Do you have a potential college athlete? Make sure to sign-up for and attend the Prospective College Athlete Meeting on Thursday. You can also attend a Parent Education night at Sequioa about youth athletics.
Is college on the horizon? Your senior can work on College Applications at a workshop on Thursday and you can attend a Parent Education at MA about choosing the right college.
ABO meets on Wednesday and have a night at the theater with Woodside HS Drama on Friday and Saturday.

Information Night for Prospective College Athletes
Thursday, November 19th, 7 - 8 PM, MUR
If your child has any interest in playing a sport in college at any level, you and your child should attend this event next week. The presentation is especially relevant for 9th and 10th, and 11th graders.
Topics include: eligibility requirements, recruitment in the digital age and expectations for a college athlete Presenters/Speakers: Francisco Negri - Head Guidance Counselor, WHS John Mylod - Advocates 4 Athletes Jason Simpson - Class of '09, former student-athlete at SJSU Sponsored by: Woodside High School Athletic Department
Alumni Basketball Game
A Wildcat tradition continues on Tuesday, November 24. Girls Varsity vs Alumna play at 6pm. Boys Varsity vs Alumni at 7:30. Come enjoy the entertainment and food. Admission $5. All proceeds benefit the Woodside Basketball Program.

How can parents support their student's participation in sports to encourage a lifelong healthy lifestyle and to reach their potential? The balance between sports, academics, and downtime can be challenging-come learn how to prepare your young athlete for the future.
Steve Smith, PhD, is a psychologist and professor of clinical psychology in the PGSP-Stanford PsyD Consortium of Palo Alto University. Dr. Smith served as the consulting psychologist for the Division I Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at UC Santa Barbara. He maintains a private practice, Sport Psychology and Research Center (www.sparccal.com), where he works with school, club, and professional teams and athletes of all ages.

Join Maria Furtado, Executive Director of Colleges That Change Lives, for a conversation about helping your student find the "right fit" for college.Colleges That Change Lives, Inc. (CTCL) is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement and support of a student-centered college search process. CTCL supports the goal of each student finding a college that develops a lifelong love of learning and provides the foundation for a successful and fulfilling life beyond college.
Maria Furtado has worked in higher education for over 20 years. Maria speaks all around the country to students, parents, and counselors about college rankings and popular misperceptions about college admission, the strength and worth of a liberal arts education, and offers tips for students and parents on how to manage the college search.
Parents, students, faculty/staff and community members welcome! Free admission.
Simultaneous Spanish interpretation will be available.
M-A Parent Education Series events are sponsored by the M-A PTA, the Sequoia Healthcare District, and the Sequoia Union High School District.

Drama Boosters
IT'S HERE! The Fall show Evening of Theater: "The Fall Collection: To the Prom and Beyond" is live on stage THIS WEEK - Thursday, Friday, andSaturday. All shows are at 7:00pm. Students are $5.00 and Adults are $10.00. Tickets are being sold on a General Admission basis, meaning seats are NOT reserved, they are first come first served, so get to the theater early, feel the excitement in the air and get ready to be entertained by this Woodside High School production. There are 7 one-act plays that will take you on an emotional ride through the high school experience and beyond. YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!
Tickets will be on sale during lunch on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday in D wing and at the PAC before show time. And you don't want wait to buy until the night of the show. Purchase early to insure availability. You don't want to miss this Evening of Theater performed by our amazing students under the directorship of our own Barry Woodruff. We'll see you at the Theater!

Congratulations to girls cross country team and freshman Alex Kastelein (individual), boys and girls water polo teams for making to CCS, and to all fall sport for a great and exciting season!
Winter sports are underway, and we all looking forward to support and cheer for our student athletes.

Music Boosters
All are invited to Woodside's Winter Concert "Let there Be Music" on Thursday, December 3, 7pm in the PAC. Concert Band, String Orchestra, Full ORchestra, Vocal Ensemble, and Jazz Band will all perform. Admission is free and desserts will be sold. Download flyer.

Support College Success for Local Low-Income Students
Volunteer Opportunity: Become a Mentor to a Talented First-Generation College Student
The Peninsula College Fund, which provides four-year college scholarships, 1-1 adult mentors, college and career success training, and summer internship support to low-income, first-generation college students, is seeking volunteers to serve as mentors to college students. Mentors offer advice, support, and role modeling to a student throughout the student's college career. Prospective mentors can learn more about this life-changing experience at http://www.peninsulacollegefund.org/what-we-do/mentoring/. This highly effective organization serves mid-peninsula high school students from Palo to Redwood City.
