Hello Woodside Family,
There are many ways you can help your Woodside Family. Two ways are being sponsored by our PTSA right now. One is Seasons of Sharing when we donate needed items and gifts to those of our Woodside Community that could use help during the holidays. Another is holding the annual Holiday Luncheon for Teachers and Staff. Enjoy the spirit of the season and check out the PTSA news.
Hooray for rain. Make it a great week. |

Seasons of Sharing
Seasons of Sharing is a program through the PTSA that tries to lighten the burden of WHS families in need. We put together individualized gift boxes and deliver them to families whom counselors or teachers have identified would benefit from the program. We need additional volunteers. If you would be interested in helping, please email the co-chairs to receive additional information.
- For those of you that have joined us in the past, we will be using a new schedule this year. We will wrap gifts and assemble gift bins on Thursday, December 4 from 2 - 7 PM in the MUR. The gift bin pickup by deliverers will be onFriday, December 5 from 3 - 6 PM in the PAC.
- The need is great, therefore we always need more donations. Please make checks payable to WHS PTSA Seasons of Sharing, and send to the school; donations are tax-deductible.
- We will need many volunteer shoppers , wrappers, and deliverers
- Shoppers: we give you a family with ages, sizes, and gift needs/suggestions. We like to have at least one gift for each family member. This can be done any time before December 4th.
- Wrappers: Come for a fun, busy day of wrapping and gift assembly -on Thursday, December 4th afternoon and early evening
- Finally, we need adult drivers to deliver the gifts to the families over the weekend of Dec 6th-7th
- Sign up with Anne (email below) to be on the mailing list - no obligation until you sign up for a family
- Contact the current co-chairs to volunteer or to learn more.
 Proposed changes to PTSA bylaws
There are several proposed changes to the PTSA bylaws that will be voted on at our next PTSA meeting at 7 pm on December 2, 2014 in the MUR. The bylaws with the proposed revisions are available for review in the main office at the desk of Lupe Flores-Robles.

FROM THE FOUNDATION
We're Half-Way There!
The Woodside High School Foundation thanks the Woodside High School Parents, Staff, and Community for their terrific support of our inaugural Donation Day, which was held on Wednesday, October 29. With your support we raised over $20,000 in a single day for the annual campaign, making our current total $192,400! That's half-way to our goal of $350,000 which is needed to provide support to many critical school programs.
We are advancing steadily towards the goal, but we need your support to hit it. If you have not yet made a contribution, please consider a gift today. You can donate online at www.whsfoundation.org or send a check to Woodside High School Foundation at Woodside High School, 199 Churchill Avenue, Woodside, CA 94062.
Woodside High School students and staff thank you for your support!

Outreach Ambassadors Sometimes parents feel distant or disconnected from other Class of 2017 parents, especially when there are so many new people in our parent community. This is why we're looking for "Outreach Ambassadors" -- to help connect parents to info and our group.
Can you help send out about 4 emails a year to help share information with those parents you knew from middle school? Please email: hsparents2017@gmail.com if you can help. It's easy! We're also looking for someone to help with outreach for our sophomore Spanish-speaking parent community.

Donate Using Paypal: If you haven't already donated to the Class of 2017's Safe & Sober Grad Night through PayPal, now's the time to do it. If everyone donated $100 right now we would meet our financial goal! It's a $25 a year donation. Use your PayPal account, create an account, or just go to the website to easily pay with your credit or debit card. To donate, go to Paypal, click the "Send" tab at the top, enter our email address: whsparents2017@gmail.com, the amount you want to send, and follow the prompts from there. Please note that a donation made via your bank goes farther than using a credit card, which gets a cut from the proceeds.
You can always use the form in the donation letter that was recently mailed out. If you didn't receive the direct donation campaign letter, please email:
Have a great week!

Athletes of the Week
Sport: Girls Varsity Cross Country
Coaches' Lens (Head Coach-Pablo Aguilera): "The Varsity Girls team of Kara Herson, Isabelle Couch, Isabella Schrammel, Isabel Espinoza, Taylor Matel, Tanin Barzanian and Ava Ocon all ran some of their best times at the Crystal Springs Cross-Country course. Despite being one of the youngest (if not youngest) Varsity teams (We had 2 juniors, 4 sophomores, and 1 freshman), they showed up well prepared and ran their best race together. These girls ran very close together and jumped many teams at the PAL Championships, to place 4th overall and qualify for CCS Championships as a team. This 4th place finish is the highest team finish by a Woodside team since 2008." These athletes will be running as a team (along with individual qualifiers in the Boys' division: Michael Mendelsohn and Tim Brown) this Saturday in Monterey at Toro Park - good luck Wildcats!
Boys Water Polo
Boys Water Polo Defeats Sequoia in PAL Tournament.
In a very close and exciting game, the Wildcats defeated Sequoia 11 to 9 in the PAL Tournament--finishing up the season with a bang!
