Mentoring Opportunity
The Academy program is a small learning community made up of dedicated teachers working collaboratively. During their Junior year, students may request a Community Mentor that works with them on both academic & career goals. I have spoken with all of the students and their career interests are widespread, ranging from chef & police officer to zoo keeper & environmental sciences.
I'm hoping that you, or someone that you know, might be able to participate in this program as a mentor. The commitment is approximately 2 hours per month, with most interactions via email and 4 face-to-face meetings over the course of the school year. The first meeting is scheduled for November 6, 9am in the WHS Multi-Use Room, and the program ends in early May.
If you or a colleague have any questions, please contact Faith Velschow, Mentor Coordinator via email at fvelschow@seq.org or via phone at 650-591-7502. You may go to the Academy websites to see more information as well at:

Thank you in advance for your consideration!
