Greetings Woodside

Congratulations to Woodside's Varsity Football for a big win on Friday September 19th.  It was a super crowd that night with students, parents, band, cheerleaders, and new staff.

Of interest this week and next are the Strategic Planning sessions both tonight (district office) and next Thursday (Woodside High School).  The discussions will shape the vision of the District for the next several years. See more details below.

Also, ELAC is having it 's first meeting this week on Thursday.  ELAC is for parents of English learners.  This is a valuable resource.  If you know of a parent that could benefit please let them know--details below.

Have a great week,
Tamiko Verkler (parent volunteer)

What: A 1-hour talk on a truly groundbreaking idea-the power of mindset! Learn why praising brains and talent doesn't foster self-esteem or boost accomplishments. Discover how great CEOs, parents, teachers, and athletes succeed and how you can develop a growth mindset in yourself and others.

Why: With the right mindset you can motivate anyone-employees, students, peers, children, and even yourself-to reach personal, educational, and professional goals.

When: October 16, 2014, 5:30 - 7:00 pm

Where: Carrington Hall, Sequoia High School
