Zusman Hospice Earns High Marks for Patient Satisfaction
Zusman Hospice, a member of Wexner Heritage Village's comprehensive senior healthcare and housing network, outperformed both state and national averages for client satisfaction in the first quarter of 2014, according to a recent report by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization.
The report is based on the results of surveys of the families of Zusman Hospice patients who passed away between Jan. 1 and March 31, 2014.
One hundred percent of those surveyed said the care provided by Zusman Hospice was consistent with their loved one's wishes and that they would "definitely recommend" Zusman Hospice to others.

Need for Spiritual Volunteers Continues to Grow
To meet the growing demand for individuals willing to participate in the unique and meaningful experience provided by the Nadav Spiritual Volunteer Program, a series of informational and training sessions will be offered starting this autumn.
Led by Zusman Hospice chaplains Rabbi Debbie Lefton and Mike Reynolds, the program provides training and support for people of all faiths who are interested in helping members of the Wexner Heritage Village community explore questions of faith and spirituality.
"Translated from Hebrew, nadav means generous," Rabbi Lefton said. "We are looking for people who can give generously of themselves and are willing to connect with others on a deeper level as they address issues of faith, the afterlife, religious values and belief. It's about becoming a spiritual confidant."

One of the fastest growing health and wellness trends right now is the wearable fitness tracker. And you may have already noticed more and more people sporting a variety of these rubbery looking wristbands, some with flashing lights or digital displays.
But what are these little gizmos, how do they work and, most importantly, what's the point?
Basically, these devices represent the next generation of pedometer, elevated by wireless technology to synchronize with smartphone apps that allow the user to collect, analyze and present data on activity and nutrition. Some trackers even monitor the wearer's sleep, heart rate and body temperature.

Surprise! It's Watermelon!
Just about everyone would agree that a cool slice of watermelon is a refreshing treat on a hot summer day.
But this juicy fruit, a superb source of vitamin C, is not exactly what it seems. Technically it's not a melon at all, but a pepo, a type of berry known for a think rind and fleshy center. And in a variety of recipes watermelon can be disguised to replace other key ingredients to create some tasty savory dishes.
If you are feeling adventurous, try fooling your dining companions this summer with this sampling of quick and easy watermelon dishes - gazpacho, sweet & tangy salad and salsa.
