Public works is still in the middle of the winter season and still plowing snow, hauling snow and opening street drains from ice buildup. We have been working on the gutter system and heat tape system keeping ice from building up in front of the post office. In addition to shoveling the town hall roof and sidewalk. We also have hauled snow to Minturn Rd. in preparation for the upcoming Ski Joring event in March. A friendly reminder to be aware of the street "no parking" signs, they are there to help public works remove and haul snow more efficiently.
We are running the water plant 7-days a week. The new master meter building is now complete. The new building provides Minturn public works a clean and safe environment to work in. The old meter building was a confined space and was very difficult to enter and exit. The new "mag meter" is far more accurate than the mechanical meter that was being used. Preliminary testing shows that the old meter was reading 13% high. The new plumbing allows for meter maintenance without shutting down water production. The size of the building has room for additional monitoring equipment that may be required in the future.
The Town of Minturn has Recycling Program! We accept all metals, batteries and refrigerators (freezers too!) at no cost to you. We do not accept any kind of liquids or hazardous materials. Just call Town Hall at 970-827-5645 for pick-up.

PARKING, SNOW REMOVAL, AND OFFICERS HOURS
EC Since the Valley has been having a very snowy winter, the staff of the Minturn Police Department thought it would be beneficial to review the parking and snow removal ordinances. In doing this, it is the hope of staff to encourage everyone to be in compliance so as to minimize difficulties with either of these issues. The yearly winter parking plan took effect this season on November 1, 2013 and runs until April 1, 2014. CLICK HERE for information in reference to the Parking and Snow Removal plans for our town.
