And Speaking of Celebrating...

The Center for Financial health has rolled out our Home Buyer's Club - a great way to celebrate homeowners in our community. Last year the Center educated 422 potential homeowners. "We need to keep the positive momentum going," says Denise Keiser, Executive Director of the Center. "Homeownership can be challenging at times, and we don't want to leave people without a lifeline. Our community's success depends on it, so we partnered with the Ingham County Land Bank to create the Lansing Home Buyer's Club, which will help ensure that potential and new homeowners have the tools they need to be successful."
The Home Buyer's Club is for anyone who is thinking of purchasing a home in the next month, year, or decade. We kicked off homeownership month with a successful Home Buyer Education class which is the first step to becoming a club member. The Center will host another class later this month, but spots are filling quickly so if you're interested in homeownership, give us a call today and be sure to LIKE the Lansing Homebuyer's Club page on Facebook and take our Homebuyer Educuation class- the first step to becoming a member of the Lansing Home Buyer's club and a successful homeowner. Also, beginning in July we will have monthly prize drawings for participating club members. Partner Spotlight: Peckham
The Center for Financial Health recently hosted an Introduction to Homeownership workshop at Peckham, a nonprofit community vocation rehabilitation program that employs many individuals throughout the Lansing area. Peckham is committed to helping their employees both on and off the job, and one of the ways they do so is to bring education to their employees and help connect them with local agencies that can support their needs and goals. The Center is happy to partner with any employer looking for ways to support their employees. If you or your company would be interested in the Center's services, give us a call to find out how we can help each other build a stronger community. |

Supporting Partners: We Can't Do it Alone
The Center for Financial Health is grateful for the support of many community organizations. Without their help we couldn't do the work that we do. Credit Unions have always been an ally for the Center. In June, the Center's Executive Director attended the annual conference of the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions in Baltimore, Maryland to learn how to better serve our clients and to continue to build strong relationships with our financial partners. "The opportunity to collaborate and work together is critical to everything we do at the Center, and our clients really benefit when we're all on the same page," said Denise Keiser upon her return.
