A Note from CSDA to Fathers Celebrating Father's Day
Terrie Hardy-Porter
CSDA President, Director, Sacramento County DCSS
Fathers, you are an important and an irreplaceable part of your child's life. Your fatherhood has a unique impact on the overall well-being of a child's life and it is this specialness that we celebrate on Father's Day.

As most of us would probably agree, parenting is one of the most rewarding, yet challenging things we will ever do in our lives. Children are amazing. They love unconditionally and are thrilled by some of the simplest things in life. Most of all they appreciate you.

Understanding the importance of parents in the lives of their children, we are proud to partner with fathers to assist you along your parenting journey. We take this time to salute you and say to all fathers throughout, we hope you had a happy Father's Day from the Child Support Directors Association!

2013 CSDA Annual Training Conference & Expo Reaches New Heights!
By Jamie Murray, Director, Sutter County DCSS and Co-Chair 2013 CSDA Annual Conference

The 2013 CSDA Annual Child Support Training Conference &Expo "Helping Children Grow" was a huge success. The conference opened this year with two very special performances by groups of children. First we were entertained by the spectacular talents of the Relampago Del Cielo Grupo Folkorico De Santa Ana dancers. Next local Brownie Troop 2719 conducted the presentation of colors and sang our national anthem. What a way to start off the conference!

Fatherhood Program and Child Support Strengthen Partnership at Summit in
Los Angeles
Al Reyes
Division Chief, Los Angeles County CSSD

Los Angeles Fatherhood Summit
A first of its kind Fatherhood Summit in Los Angeles County laid the groundwork to improve the collection of child support for families by improving communication and cooperation between child support agencies and community organizations serving parents in healthy marriage and responsible fatherhood programs.

The Fatherhood Summit, held on May 1, 3013 was a half-day dialogue with representatives of seven community organizations, each one a recipient of a 2011 federal Healthy Marriage/Fatherhood grant. Executives from the Los Angeles County Child Support Services Department (CSSD) and the federal Office of Family Assistance (OFA) gave presentations and participated in the discussion.

State Budget Update
By David Oppenheim, Executive Director, CSDA

In mid-May the Governor released his May Revision to the proposed 2013-14 State Budget. The May Revise is the Administration's opportunity to make adjustments to key revenue and expenditure assumptions based on more timely and accurate data. For example, the Legislative Analyst's Office (LAO) estimates that state revenues are currently tracking approximately $4 billion over initial projections. The May Revise also provides the Administration an opportunity to submit to the Legislature any new initiatives or program priorities prior to the Legislature taking final action on the state budget. The Legislature has until June 15 to approve and send a final budget to the Governor.

By Tamara Thomas, Director, Stanislaus County DCSS
Contributing author, Nohemi Johnson, Child Support Officer/PASS caseworker

Stanislaus County's PASS project is progressing as intended following the federal perspective and meeting timeframes for reports, goals and milestones. Our primary objective is gearing
up for our implementation of random assignment enrollment of non -custodial parents starting October 1, 2013. Several significant outcomes have occurred since I last updated the
CSDA membership.
