The first King's Day in Tucson was a huge success! Around 50 people defied the initial wind and rain and by the time they got to the party it had cleared up and we were able to celebrate under sunny skies! First of all: a big THANK YOU to Carlou and Scott Stubbs who hosted the 2014 King's Day event! What a wonderful home and how pretty they had decorated everything! They worked tirelessly to create a perfect King's Day venue and made major contributions to this fantastic and fun event. Many thanks Carlou and Scott!! Around 5 PM the guests arrived at the party, bringing absolutely delicious food and drinks which made for a wonderful (and large!) buffet that people enjoyed throughout the evening. There was much laughter and animated conversation on the patios while people enjoyed the beautiful views over Tucson from the Catalina's. An official toast to King Willem-Alexander emphasized the reason why we all got together on this festive day! The party continued for many hours and as it got a little cooler we gathered around the large fire pit that kept us warm and comfortable. Pictures Arjen took the pictures (thanks Arjen!) and if you click HERE you will be taken to the King's Day photo album. Thanks to all of you for your contributions to this wonderful event! This could not have been more fun! Lang Leve de Koning! We are looking forward to seeing you again at the next NLBorrel on Friday May 30!! |
