Gas Equipment Company Organizational Changes & Employment Opportunities


Steve Clayton, Midwest Region Manager

Gas Equipment Company is pleased to announce that Steve Clayton has been hired as the Region Manager for the Midwest Region.  Steve will be responsible for the Indianapolis, IN, Kansas City, MO, and St. Louis, MO customer service locations along with the sales teams traveling the territories serviced by these locations. 

Steve brings with him sixteen years of retail propane marketer experience.  His background includes district and service center management in multiple locations throughout the Midwest.  Prior to working in the LP-Gas industry, Steve served nine years in the the active Army as an officer in the Artillery and Intelligence Corps.

IMPORTANT CELLULAR NETWORK NOTIFICATION

Dear Centeron Customer,
 
We are providing you with this information to customers who have first-generation Centeron cellular monitoring devices installed that operate on the GSM 2G cellular network.
 
You may already be aware that the major cellular carrier, (AT&T) using this 2G GSM system had announced some time ago that they intend to end support for 2G communications by December of 2016.  Your Centeron sales representative has likely contacted you about this issue previously.  This decision by AT&T will likely affect the ability of some of your Centeron tank monitors to communicate to our WebView data portal after 2016.  There is also evidence to suggest that 2G coverage is being removed in various areas in advance of the deadline.
 
This situation only affects those monitors you have that operate on the 2G GSM system.  Since April of 2013 Centeron has been selling cellular monitors that operate on the 3G CDMA system.  If you have those 3G CDMA monitors, they are not affected.
 
You must take action soon with respect to your 2G monitors to ensure uninterrupted access to your tank level data.  We have provided information to your Centeron representative concerning your affected monitors as of April, 2016 along with the option(s) available to move to 3G capability.  These include a field upgrade kit or monitor replacement.  Most monitors can be upgraded in the field with a kit, but some have to be replaced due to either regulatory concerns or technology constraints.  
 
For answers to specific questions, recommendations and pricing information, please contact your Centeron representative.
 
This situation is unfortunately a consequence of technology moving forward that is largely beyond our control.  By providing a field upgrade kit that suits most purposes and special limited time discounted pricing we hope to lessen the impact on your operations.

Algas-SDI Vaporization & SNG Workshop
Seattle, Washington, U.S.A.
August 9-12, 2016

Algas-SDI is pleased to announce our 2016 Vaporization & SNG Workshop in Seattle, Washington. We cordially invite Algas-SDI distributors, representatives & customers to attend our annual 4-day workshop in Seattle.

Whether you are an installer, service technician, product manager, salesperson or a system designer, everyone can benefit from the workshop!

Learn the "principles and practices" of vaporization, vaporizers and propane-air systems from the experts. The design, application, installation, maintenance and testing of our products are covered during the sessions. We combine class time, live demonstrations & hands on sessions to teach every attendee how to test and perform installation & maintenance on our LP Gas products.

Attendees learn to size and select the right product for all applications and will gain a greater knowledge of Algas-SDI products. From our distributed products such as Direct Fired and Electric Vaporizers, to our packaged mixing systems and accessories, we cover it all.
 
If you are interested in attending or sending employees please contact one of Gas Equipment Company's Regional Managers as soon as possible to receive additional information and a registration packet including a registration form, class itinerary and designated hotel information. The registration form must be completed and returned to Algas-SDI to be registered for the workshop.  The workshop is offered as a courtesy service to Algas partners and customers. Algas-SDI has reserved a block of rooms at a special rate for the workshop attendees at the Courtyard by Marriott, 400 Andover Park West, Tukwila, WA 98188.  Attendees are responsible for the negotiated workshop room rate of $194.00/night (not including taxes).  Attendees are also responsible for airfare or travel expenses to Tukwila, WA.

Each day during the workshop, Algas-SDI will provide light breakfast with tea and coffee, lunch and a planned dinner event (excluding Friday night dinner-Aug. 12th).  Daily transportation from the designated hotel to the classroom and evening events is arranged by Algas-SDI. Note: Transportation is provided from the Algas-SDI designated hotel only. If you prefer to stay at a different hotel, please arrange for your daily & evening transportation.

Registration is limited and available on a first come first serve basis only.  
Registration deadline is July 15, 2016.

Last month at the NPGA Southeastern Propane Expo several business associates and I hailed a taxi for a ride to our restaurant for an evening meal.  During the ride in the taxicab, one of our riders touched the driver on the shoulder to ask him a question. 

Upon the touch, the cab driver flinched, screamed, then went into a panic and almost wrecked our cab. Finally the driver got control and pulled to side of road. 

Still shaking, he turned to us and apologized. He said, "Sorry about that. This is my first day as a cab driver. For the past 20 years I have driven a hearse".

Wives!  Smarter than Men Give them Credit for.

A woman was walking down the street. Without warning, she was accosted by a particularly dirty and shabby-looking homeless woman who asked her for a couple of dollars for dinner.

The woman took out her bill fold, extracted ten dollars and asked, "If I give you this money, will you buy some wine with it instead of dinner?"

"No, I had to stop drinking years ago" the homeless woman replied.

"Will you use it to go shopping instead of buying food?" the woman asked.

"No, I don't waste time shopping, the homeless woman said. "I need to spend all my time trying to stay alive."

"Will you spend this on a beauty salon instead of food?" the woman asked.

"Are you NUTS!" replied the homeless woman. "I haven't had my hair done In 20 years!"

"Well," said the woman, "I'm not going to give you the money. Instead, I'm going to take you out for dinner with my hubby and myself tonight."

The homeless woman was astounded. "Won't your husband be furious with you for doing that? I know I'm dirty, and I probably smell pretty disgusting."

The woman replied, "That's okay. It's important for him to see what a woman looks like after she has given up shopping, hair appointments, and wine."

A nun was sitting at the JFK airport, waiting for her flight to Calgary .

She looked over in the corner and saw one of those weight machines that tells your fortune and thought to herself, 'I'll give it a try and see what it tells me.'
 
She went over to the machine, stepped up on the scale and put her nickel in, out came a card that read, 'you are a nun, you weigh 128 lbs, and you are going to Calgary .'
 
The nun sat back down.  she told herself that the machine probably gives the same card to everyone.  The more she thought about it the more curious she got so she decided to try it again she went back to the machine and again put her nickel in, and out came a card that read: 'you are a nun, you weigh 128 lbs, you are going to Calgary and you are going to play a fiddle.'
 
The nun says to herself, 'I know that is wrong. I have never played a musical instrument even once in my life.'  She sat back down.
 
From out of nowhere a cowboy came over and sat down, putting his fiddle case on the seat between them.  Without thinking, she opened the cowboy's case, took out the fiddle, and started playing beautiful music. surprised at what she had done, she looked over at the machine, thinking, 'this is incredible, I've got to try this again.' 
 
Back to the machine she went, put in another nickel, and another card came out.  it read, 'you are a nun, you weigh 128 lbs , you are going to Calgary and you are going to break wind.'  Now she knows the machine is wrong, as she thought to herself, 'I've never broken wind in public a single time in my life.'  but getting down off the machine she slipped, and as she was straining to keep herself from falling to the floor, she broke wind.
Absolutely stunned, she sat back down and looked at the machine.  She said to herself, 'this is truly remarkable.  I've got to try this again.'  She went back to the machine, put in another nickel and another card came out.
 
It read, 'you are a nun, you weigh 128 lbs, you have fiddled and farted around so much that you have missed your flight to Calgary.
