Don't forget to bring your Angel Tree gifts
Every year, PBF ministers to local children who have one or both parents in prison. This year we will serve 20 children by purchasing Christmas gifts in the name of the imprisoned parent. Three gifts will be given to each child: A Bible, Christian story book or devotion book; an article of clothing; and a toy. In addition, every family will receive a food basket.
Last Sunday, those donating selected their angels recipients from the tree. If you took an angel tag, please remember to return the gifts wrapped with the angel gift tag attached. Safeway gift cards do NOT need to be wrapped.

Wellspring Ministry
|
Wellspring (Wellness Ministry) will start a new session 6-7:30 PM Tuesdays, beginning January 8th in the Fireside Room.
Honor and care for God's temple. When others are struggling to keep their resolutions, we will be learning and exploring the concepts that will equip us to formulate lifetime habits re: the care and management of our physical bodies. Topics will include nutrition, eating to honor our body, stress management, hydration, sleep hygiene and habits, a fitness system that you can live with, and more. While this is much more than a "weight loss" class, a common side effect of gaining wellness is losing weight! For those of you who participated in the fast, this is a wonderful adjunct to continue your journey to greater spiritual awareness, honoring God with your body, and retaining the healthy gains that you may have enjoyed as a result of the fast. Capacity Crowd enjoys Ladies' Dessert
More than 240 women, nearly half of them guests from outside the PBF family, took part in the Ladies Christmas Dessert Tuesday. Those attending enjoyed a concert by the Kitsap Chordsmen. They also heard an inspirational talk by Kathi Sturgeon who discussed how she found light and hope in dark circumstances. Kathi was struck by a drunk driver while she was riding her bicycle in 2008 and sustained a nearly life-ending head injury. Event organizer Tammi Keffer offered special thanks to the many volunteers who made this amazing event possible. They included Machele Cave, Helen Cook and Noreen Sell. The fabulous wait staff made the event joyous for all the ladies. And of course, the evening was all the more festive thanks to the efforts of the table decorators and hosts: Arlene Janusch, Tammy Lewis, Bobbi Barrutia, Carol Brown, Carol Rogers, Carolyn Engstrom, Cherie Busch, Dawn Kuske, Dee Porterfield, Dorothy Coleman, Edie Klatt, Elisha Kibbe, Frances Shaw, Gail Garland, Jean Braun, Joy Parker, Judy Allen, Judy Bertolini, Karla Newitt, Kathryn Jordan, Kim Goslee, Kristin DeRoos, Larissa Campbell, Laura Riotto, Linda Schneider, Lynn Hawley, Marcia Hall, Marcia Onarheim, Michelle James, Patti Nelson, RoseEllen Roberts, Ruth Ungren, Sammie Simons, Terri Babcock, and Vanessa Conner. |

Kids celebrate Birthday Party for Jesus
Children's Church celebrated the start of the Christmas and Advent season with a Birthday Party for Jesus. Children brought items appropriate for infants and toddlers that will be donated to Pregnancy Resource Services, which supports women in crisis pregnancy situations. More than 80 children participated. Kids loved the games and cake, which emphasized that Christmas is, above all, a celebration of Jesus' birth.
