Are you an "Attender"?Become a Member!
On November 4th, PBF will hold its annual membership meeting reviewing the past year, planning for the new one and approving a new elder and budget. In order to vote, you MUST be a member of the church. Not sure if you are a member? Just email Heidi Evans at heidi.evans@peninsulabible.org. We found several people listed as "attenders" in our database and sent them an email last week.
If you are not a member, and would like to become "official," please attend our Fall New Members Dinner and Seminar set for October 21st at 4 p.m. in the Fireside Room. Childcare is provided. Only one meeting on one night is now required for membership. You will hear a brief history of the church, our beliefs, how we are governed, and take a tour of the building. You will also meet our Elders. At the end of the night, you will be asked if you would like to join the church. If so, you will need to sign this document and be welcomed into the Body of Church on October 28th.
Would you like to be included? Please email Heidi Evans here.

New deadline for Life of PBF
We are sending out the Life of PBF on Thursdays starting next week. (Completing the Annual Report took a significant amount of time this week, and the newsletter was pushed to the bottom of the pile.) If you would like something included in the online publication, it must be submitted to the main office by 4 PM Tuesday the week you would like it released in the email. As always, we love personal photos of the accomplishments and work of our PBF family in the community. Feel free to share them with us.

Missions Connection- Bill and Jane Robinson Bill and Jane Robinson will share how God used two very different individuals to begin a mission that is now viewed as a model by many mission organizations. Bill and Jane Robinson are 40 year residents of Kitsap County. They are graduates of the University of Washington and Bill attended Dallas Seminary. Married for 44 years, they have four children and seven grandchildren. Since Bill's Freshman year at the U of W when he made a decision to follow Christ, his vision has been to see all people and nations (saved). One local product of that vision was beginning what became Bremerton, South Kitsap, North Kitsap and Bainbridge Young Life. Bill was approached in 1976 by a group of people who wanted to be a part of a church body whose mission was evangelism. While Bill did not see himself as a pastor, he did see this fit his vision and thus Peninsula Bible Fellowship was formed. During his tenure, PBF dedicated people in the church and finances to participate in the Great Commission goal of PBF. After 24 years of ministry, the Elders agreed to Bill's request to be released as PBF's pastor in order to bring Christ to the very Gospel-resistant Basque people of Spain and France. The basic premise of the mission is bringing Basques to the USA to spend one month with believing families who serve as Basque missionaries - without leaving home. PBF was and remains instrumental in reaching the Basque.

Congregational meeting set for Nov. 4th
 | | CARL JOHNSON |
Sure you can cast your ballot for president, but your vote can have even greater impact right here at PBF. Our members will review our annual budget, vote on the election of an elder to the board and get an overview of the upcoming year of the church. The meeting will be held at 4 PM Sunday, November 4th.
Carl Johnson will be seeking re-election to the Elder Board. Carl, and his wife Helen, have been members of PBF since 1985. In 1986, Carl was asked to join the Elder Board, where he served for 12 years, until 1998. It was also during that time that Carl served PBF as the Church Administrator in a part-time capacity. After a 10-year pause from service on the board, Carl was elected to a 4-year term in November 2008 with the option of serving a second 4-year term, if approved by the congregation.
During the 27 years that Carl & Helen have lived in Kitsap, they have been involved in many facets of the community. In 1985, Carl established Kitsap Outreach, which has held an annual Leadership Prayer Breakfast for the past 27 years. In 1991, both Carl & Helen committed themselves to ministry. Helen took on the responsibility as Director of the Pregnancy Resource Services of Kitsap County, and Carl began a marketplace ministry known as Marketplace CrossTalk, both of which continue to this day. It was also in 1991 that Carl served as the Vice Chairman of the Washington State Billy Graham Crusade, held in the Tacoma Dome and the Kingdome. Carl served as a member of the Central Kitsap School Board for 14 years, as well as the President of the Central Kitsap Community Council for 3 years. Here at PBF, Carl & Helen host a care group, and Carl is a co-teacher, along with Ted Berney, for the care group leaders. Carl is also the Community Relations Director for the Kitsap Alliance of Resources for Elders (KARE), and writes a monthly column on senior issues for the CK Reporter & Bremerton Patriot newspapers.

The fast continues...
At PBF, we are on a journey of discovery. A journey to listen to God's voice, to pray for the poor, especially the people of the Dominican Republic, and to join together as a body to completely renew our focus on Jesus. Many in the PBF family are fasting -- in this case eating the diet of those in the Dominican Republic -- for 40 days. They are limited to eating things like: chicken, rice, black beans, citrus fruit, bananas and avacados.
Learn more about the program on our web page.
Receive DAILY encouragement on your journey and the names of children in the Dominican Republic who would appreciate your prayers today by visiting our blog.
