CAROL & SCOTT PARKER, THE ARABIAN LEGENDS
Olathe, Kansas
Carol recalls, "My love affair with the Arabian horse began when I was just a teenager. My father bought an Arabian gelding at auction back in the seventies, and we named him Ahab the Arab. We 'road the hair off' that sweet gelding! I remembered he always had such a carefree way of going and he never ran out of steam! My sisters and I rode bareback most of the time; we had two gears, either walking or running! We never had papers on him, but I always loved his look; flea-bitten gray with huge dark eyes.
Later, after I was married and had four children, I bought my first purebred Arabian mare. She was mostly Crabbet, Egyptian, and a little polish. Her tail female line traces back to Nejdme. She became the foundation mare for my non-straight Egyptian Arabians.
I have met wonderful people and made many new friends through my love affair (or obsession) with the Arabian horse. Later, some of my friends introduced me to straight Egyptian Arabians, and we decided to go to the...

THE BANDERA+++/ CAPTURES SPORT HORSE NATIONALS CHAMPIONSHIP AND RESERVE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLES!
Tom and Gail Chasteen of Meadow Creek Arabians are excited to announce that the 2004 Straight Egyptian Stallion The Bandera+++/ (Alixir x Arabella MCA) has captured Sport Horse Nationals Championship and Reserve Championship Titles.
At the 2015 Arabian & Half-Arabian Sport Horse Nationals held in Raleigh, NC, The Bandera+++/ brought home a Championship and a Reserve Championship in Arabian Stallion Sport Horse in Hand Hunter Type.

NMEBA SEPTEMBER SEMINAR AT SONRISA FARMS
The day began with a seminar at the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the site of last year's Pyramid Society Regional Breeders Seminar.Educational presentations started with Cynthia Culbertson, who spoke on horse of the Middle East and New Mexico. Jake Gutierrez followed Cynthia, and spoke on the Arabian horse in New Mexico between 1900 and 1960.Dr, A. Burton Melton spoke next on the straight Egyptian horses he was personally involved with, and a lively session of questions and comments was enjoyed by those in attendance. Finishing up the morning session was Jerry Dumas, Esq., whose talk was on taxes and the Arabian horse.
The afternoon session began with the President of the Arabian Horse Association of New Mexico, Jim Porcher, andcontinued with a tour of the breeding facilities of Sonrisa Arabians, conducted by Sonrisa's attending veterinarian, Dr. Andres Estrada.After an excellent refreshment break, the evening program provided the attendees and guests a presentation of the Straight Egyptians at Sonrisa Arabians, as well as a beautiful buffet dinner. The New Mexico Breeders Alliance thanks all those who helped make our activities successful, and we expressly wish to thank Mary Ellen Chavez for her hospitality and generous donation of her farm and time.

JEANNE ABERNATHY NAMED DIRECTOR OF W.K. KELLOGG ARABIAN HORSE CENTER
Pyramid Society member Jeanne Brooks Abernathy of Brookhill Farm in Franklin, Tennessee is excited to share the news of her new venture.
Previous to starting Brookhill in 2003, Jeanne had a varied business career, working as both a marketing consultant and at Xerox Corporation. Working with trainer Jill Girardi Thomas for the last ten years, Brookhill Farm grew to be home to over 50 Straight Egyptian Arabians and a large family of clients. Now, with her daughter off to college, Jeanne welcomes a new chapter in her life and will be moving to California to serve as the Director of the W.K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Center at Cal Poly Pomona.
"I'm very excited and honored to join the oldest Arabian breeding program in the United States" she shares. Jeanne describes her time at Brookhill as a "very hands-on" experience, and she's looking forward to continuing that approach at the storied W. K. Kellogg Arabian Horse Center.

Martha B. Lucas, of Whitehaven Plantation located in Bishopville, SC is proud to announce the success of homebred WH Marengo at Sport Horse Nationals in Raleigh, NC! WH Marengo (WH Bodacious x Ansata Farah) was in excellent company at Sport Horse Nationals, winning over some of the top horses in the country!

THEE FLASH DANCER - TULSA STATE FAIR CHAMPION
Ken & Karen Shutts of Lone Star Arabians in Magnolia, TX, congratulate THEE FLASH DANCER LSA (THEE DESPERADO X BINT FA SHARAFA) THEE FLASH DANCER LSA was ridden to claim Champion in the Championship Jr. Horse Working Cow class at the Tulsa State Fair September 24th-25th and the Region 9 Reserve Champion in Open Working Class and Jr Cow Horse Open.

 EGYPTIAN ARABIANS SHOWCASED AT 2015 ARABIAN FOAL FESTIVAL The Third Annual Arabian Foal Festival Show, presented by the Santa Ynez Valley Arabian Horse Association, was held August 22-23rd at Montanaro, near the village of Los Olivos, California.
Judges for this year's event were Shawn Cruz of Arabians Ltd., Lisa Markley a longtime Arizona breeder, and Bill Melendez, a trainer, Judge and AHA official. The Festival was again enthusiastically supported through sponsorships by area farms and local vendors. Several Pyramid Society Member farms were well represented with foals winning a number of titles, including Silver Maple Farm, Om El Arab and Al Jassimya.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF RICHARD FAULKNER
It is with deep sorrow that we share the news of the passing of Richard Faulkner, Kansas City, MO on October 19, 2015.
Dick was a long-time commercial exhibitor and great supporter at the Egyptian Event for many years through his company, Faulkner's Saddlery. He was always there with a kind word or offer to help out whenever needed. Dick was an extremely kind man and will be missed by many throughout the Arabian community.
