Yacht Broker Education & Certification Forces Unite
The Yacht Brokers Association of America (YBAA) and the Yacht Broker Institute LLC (YBI) have signed a cooperative agreement to mutually support the broker education and professional certification efforts as provided by each organization.
According to YBAA Executive Director, Vin Petrella, "The YBAA / YBI agreement provides a comprehensive process for encouraging new entrants to the profession with sound educational support, while also offering brokers the opportunity to advance their professional skills and industry recognition. We anticipate that the combined efforts of YBAA and YBI will greatly assist our industry to attract and maintain a qualified, professional workforce in the coming years."

Market Resumes Climb in November with 6 Percent Increase

After a slowdown in October, brokerage sales picked up again in November, with U.S. brokers reporting 1,866 boats sold, a 6 percent gain over the same month in 2014. According to the month's aggregated data in SoldBoats, the value of sales in the month increased as well, gaining $25 million to a total of $271.5 million.

In the largest economy ever created on the planet, America is still the land of opportunity. And life will still pay whatever price you ask, but it's not just going to hand you the prize without you earning it, without you deserving it. Yes, America is still a do-it-to-yourself and for-yourself proposition.
Sales mirrors America in this way. If you're willing to work hard, stay disciplined, and do what needs to be done every day, whether you feel like it or not, you can be extremely successful in sales. All of that said, it will be helpful to keep the following sales rules in mind.

The One True Sales Question

It transports the buyer into an ideal situation where he or she can have any solution that the heart desires-realistic or not. It spotlights the gap between the buyer's needs and how he or she is attempting to meet these needs. This brings dissatisfaction with the status quo to a boiling point and dissatisfaction is a powerful motivator.

Miami Boat Show receives key environmental permit approval from Miami-Dade County Commission
The Miami International Boat Show yesterday received approval of its Miami-Dade Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources (RER) Class 1 Special Events permit from the Miami-Dade County Board of County Commissioners. The 13-member County Commission voted 8-1 to approve the Boat Show's plans. The key environmental permit approval comes shortly after the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) issued a state-required environmental permit to the Boat Show on December 11. Both permits focus on compliance with environmental regulations for the in-water portion of the Boat Show and were thoroughly reviewed by each department's environmental experts and staff.
