Continuing education and professional development is essential for Yacht Sales Professionals to perform their job at the highest possible level. Certified Professional Yacht Brokers (CPYB) are required to earn a minimum of 30 credit hours of continuing education / professional development every 3 years.

Over the past eighteen months, the YBAA Forms Committee undertook a major revision to our YBAA Standardized Contractual Forms program, which are now available for member use here on the YBAA web site.
Thanks to the considerable efforts of past president John Proctor - Lawson Yachts, former board member Jay LeBow - Annapolis Sailyard, board member David Walters - David Walters Yachts, member Allen Schiller - East Coast Yacht Sales, Vin Petrella - YBAA Executive Director, Amy Luckado - Membership Director and Vincent Moulden - Digital Media Manager, the new Forms will continue to provide a valuable service to all participating members.

U.S. Brokerage Sales Make Progress in April

Sales of brokerage boats in the U.S. picked up significantly in April compared to recent months, but still trailed sales volume of April 2013 by 2 percent. A total of 2,975 boats changed hands in the month, up from 2,439 in March, according to YachtWorld member brokers reporting in SoldBoats.com. The aggregate price paid for the boats was $311 million, a 5 percent increase over April 2013.

YBAA recently learned of the loss of a loyal and long-time member, J. Richard 'Dick' Sciuto, husband of Judith M. (Arsenault) Sciuto. Dick passed away late last year at the age of 69.
