TRUTH & Rumors

-
Last week an angry reader took us to task for being unnecessarily harsh and tone deaf with our comments regarding NUSEA. - We offered to print his email but he asked us not to.
- Too bad, he was probably right.
- A very fit and maturing Olivia Blatchford may finally be hitting her stride on the women's tour. She recently knocked off reigning US Champ Sabrina Sobhy in tournament action and jumped 19 spots in the current tour rankings.
- Jonathon Power will be teaming up with former women's world champion Vanessa Atkinson as the broadcast team for the upcoming Women's World Team Championships. They will be teaming up with Don Goodwin, who Squash Canada is promoting as the "voice of squash" in North America.
- No doubt when Robert Edwards reads this, he will be none too happy. Edwards is still regarded by many as the "voice of squash" ... globally.
- Congratulations to Beijing police officer Mao Weidong who just set the world record for planking. Most of us plank for a minute or so. Mao held the position here for 4 hours 26 minutes.
- Just when we thought Bates College coach and marketing genius Pat Cosquer couldn't outdo himself, he did it again.
- Cosquer and his gang at Bates just bought the Tournament of Champions glass show court.
- The court will debut with the Bobcat Classic, headlined by PST's reigning champion Thierry Lincou.
- NY Squash now owns a new website called SquashWorldwide.com. We couldn't tell what the distinguishing characteristics are. But we still love the NYSquash.com site.
- Boston based squash fanatic and serial entrepreneur Yves Schabes is at it again. His new service Chookka here could change how you view social media.
- Congratulations to Trinity College alum Simba Muhwati, who was recently promoted to Head Squash Pro at Cross Courts Squash Club in metro-Boston.
- Coincidentally, Trinity Coach Paul Assaiante was at Cross Courts last month speaking to members on college squash and how to navigate the college process.
