TRUTH & Rumors
|
We've heard reports that a referee's participation in this Squash Ezine discussion cost him his assignments in Europe. Evidently, a public debate is not allowed by the power brokers in charge of assigning referees.- World Squash Federation head honcho Narayana Ramachandran is running unopposed to be the new leader of India's Olympic Association. India's Olympic group is known more for its venality than being a well run organization.
- And according to Inside the Games here, Ramachandran's ascension is viewed as a victory for the outgoing (allegedly) corrupt leaders.
- Joseph Rosen, JHRosenLaw.com, is the immigration attorney used by the top players when they want a U.S. visa or green card. Rosen recently handled the paperwork for Ramy Ashour and David Palmer.
- A tip of the cap to current Harvard Squash players Amanda Sobhy and Ali Faraq for their performance in the main draw of the recent Tournament of Champions. Just another indication of the high level of play in College Squash.
- The U Penn men topped Princeton this past week - ending a nearly 40 year stretch of Princeton's domination. Some are wondering if it marks the end of an era or simply a momentary hiccup in the history of Tigers Squash.
- Speaking of College Squash, you may want to check out the exciting action at these big upcoming events:
