David Palmer started slowly against reigning champion Thierry Lincou and found himself down two games before the squash icon turned it on for a dizzying display of intensity to win the final three games and the Cleveland Classic title.

This week we received the following note from the George Washington University Squash Coach:
I was astounded to read the blurb in your newsletter Squash E-Zine which accuses me and GW of fraudulently representing GW as national champions in 2011-12 season.
The article from the GW newspaper was not incorrect as the winner of the C Civision at the CSA nationals are the C Division National Champions a fact that was made clear in the article:
"The No. 17 Colonials traveled to Princeton, N.J. needing to win three matches in three days to claim the Summers Cup, the highest honor in the tournament's C division. "
I find your so-called reporting and innuendo to be shameful and I know many other CSA coaches are embarrassed by your cheap shots and ethical conflicts.
Finals Day in Philadelphia, and it was the top seeds in the PSA and WSA World Series events - offering equal prize money for the first time ever - who were crowned 2013 U.S. Open Champions tonight in Drexel University's John A. Daskalakis Athletic Center.

According to Daily Squash Report's Publisher, squash needs to change to a new scoring system, called Pro Scoring, which will not only make professional matches more entertaining and dramatic, but will also improve play at the junior, college and recreational levels by eliminating meaningless points.
This is my favorite stretch when warming up my athletes. It's a stretch that dynamically warms up the body and really targets the hips, shoulders and legs. These are performed in a dynamic moving fashion (left leg, then right etc..)
PST's David Palmer clearly had enough of Commissioner Joe McManus saying Thierry Lincou was undefeated in PST action. The big Aussie was beyond intense in Cleveland this past weekend on his way to winning the tournament title.
Speaking of the Commish, PST's top man was the object of several barbs by his players on Sunday morning before the Cleveland finals.
When we asked why, he told us what happens in Cleveland, stays in Cleveland.
Congratulations to Leroy Leong. The assistant pro at the Buffalo Tennis and Squash Club has been hired to launch a middle school squash program at the Nichols School.
The naughtiest boys and girls playing squash may be at England's University of Warwick, which is roughly halfway between Manchester and London.
Their Facebook page here, is 80% drinking and partying and 20% squash.
Tomorrow (Thursday) at 5:00 p.m. on court 5, they will be posing naked for their squash photo in this year's Warwick Sport Naked Calendar. All proceeds from the calendar will go to support their charity, British Blind Sport.
Sign up on here on their Facebook page, if you wish.
Speaking of naked squash, SquashMad.com posted a risque photo here.
There are some very angry WSA players who are wondering why the tour has yet to schedule a World Open for this year. It is very hard to demand equal money when you can't find anyone to host your event.
