Recognizing service and volunteerism throughout Maryland

The Governor's Office on Service and Volunteerism (GOSV) is pleased to present the 2014 Annual Report. Thanks to the leadership of the Governor's Commission on Service and Volunteerism, the GOSV provided funding to 32 organizations, including 15 AmeriCorps State programs whose members provided direct service to Maryland's communities. Additionally, the GOSV recognized over 200,000 Maryland volunteers through annual events and recognition tools provided by the office.

Random Acts of Kindness Week

Brighten someone's day by attempting a new act of kindness this week during Random Acts of Kindness (RAK) Week, February 9-15, 2015!

Join us in celebrating AmeriCorps Week from March 9-13, 2015!

 

During this week, the GOSV will be highlighting the extraordinary impact AmeriCorps members and alums make in our State each day on Facebook and Twitter.

 

There will be a few surprises from us as we gear up for AmeriCorps Week 2015. Be sure to stay tuned for more details on how AmeriCorps members and alums can celebrate with us!


Spotlight On: Anne Arundel County Volunteer Center

The Anne Arundel County Volunteer Center (AACVC) has dubbed February as "Heart to Heart" Month and encourages everybody to show love to others by volunteering! 

 

Do you volunteer in Anne Arundel county? AACVC is looking for individuals to share  their favorite volunteer story and share a photo about how this volunteer moment has helped you grow. Select stories will be published during National Volunteer Week in April! And, by submitting a story, you will be entered into a drawing for an assortment of prizes. Have a story to share? Submit your story and photo at using the Heart to Heart submission form. The submission deadline is this Saturday, February 14 so don't delay!
