Story of Service: "The Missing Person" by Cody Wehlan
|
Cody Wehlan, a second year AmeriCorps member with Partnership for Adolescents on the Lower Shore in Salisbury, MD, serves with Mid Shore Community Mediation. His story highlights a powerful experience he had while providing mediation to a High School student. As a second year AmeriCorps member, I am inspired and moved by the power that service can provide. Offering oneself to another for no gain is a very spiritual and emotional experience. Consequently, once I experienced that powerful, positive energy, it became a challenge to re-experience that "a-ha" moment. I still found beauty and passion in the service I performed, but it was harder to find an experience that stood out for me. That is, until a couple weeks ago.
