At Sierra Azul
Sculpture Is 2013
June 1 - October 31, 2013
Reception: Thursday June 13, from 5-7PM
We're excited about returning to Sierra Azul Nursery
and Gardens after a one year hiatus! Hedwig Heerschop, Jeff Rosendale, and David Mudgett just finished placing all the new pieces and they are fabulous!
We are trying some new things at the reception this year. In order to offer easier access to the event we will provide free valet parking. Refreshments will be available to purchase, and we always appreciate your donations towards the beverages. We know you will enjoy the music while you stroll the gardens. Wear your sun screen, put on your walking shoes, enjoy meeting the artists and viewing the sculpture.
Sierra Azul is right across the street from the Agriculture History Project so, make a day of it and visit both shows!
Open viewing hours at Sierra Azul Nursery and Gardens are 9:00am to 5:30pm daily.

Best of Show: Fur, Feathers, Fins & Fuzz
June 26 - August 4, 2013
Opening Reception: June 30, 2-4 PM
Best of Show is a title given to an animal whose qualities so impress the judges at, for instance, a dog show, that the animal is declared
The Best over all the others. But in fact, we who have real pets or imagined ones know that our own animals, whether with fur, feathers, fins or fuzz, are the best, no matter how scruffy, smelly, friendly, and not-so-obedient they are. This exhibition hopes to honor our animal loves, real or imagined, publicly; they're all The Best, in this show.
Call for Artists-Around the County
All professional artists residing in the County of Santa Cruz are invited to submit a proposal for Phase 4 of the "Outside the Box" public art program. This program seeks to enliven and beautify traffic-signal controller boxes in the unincorporated areas of the County of Santa Cruz. Proposals are currently being sought by the County of Santa Cruz for seven traffic controller boxes for Phase 4 of the program. Artists must address how they would handle all four sides of a particular traffic box. Selected artists will paint their proposed imagery directly on a traffic box.
A copy of the RFP, which includes detailed information about what to submit, is available on the County Parks website athttp://www.scparks.com/TBA_Call.html. The website also lists the location of each of the seven boxes, as well as dimensions. Proposals must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. Friday, July 12, 2013. To have an RFP mailed to you, please call (831) 454-7901.
