Calling Students of SilverWorks!
Show Your Work
This year the good folk here at Glen Echo Park have chosen to award me a solo show in Sept-Oct. I will be doing something a little different with my jewelry-meets-storytelling style. The focus is on the effects of Breast Cancer as well as other Cancer on our culture. I will be creating 10 one-of-a-kind pieces inspired by the stories of 10 women's journeys.

As always I am inviting students to show along side me. To stay true to the theme, your work must have either a visual representation or abstract concept that was inspired by the themes of survival, trauma, victory, hardship, etc. Works can use any technique learned at the studio. If the work includes a gemstone it must be pink.

Submission deadline: September 15.

Jr Artist Residency Program
at SilverWorks
You may bump into them as they assist in Open Studio, or while they are helping me or Mawadda teach, or even doing their work. They are SilverWorks first Jr Artists Residency Program recipients. These talented winners are David Sullivan, Kaila
Hill, and Danny Knauss.

What is Jr Artist Residency at SilverWorks?

The program is designed to give free access to the SilverWorks studio and all its tools to help college bound high school students explore the craft at a deeper level while also learning the way a studio runs. The winners were chosen based on talent, determination, and a willingness to learn.

pinkInspire others with your story...

If you have a story that you feel comfortable sharing with me and allowing me to depict it in wearable art, please contact me. You will have the option to be interviewed for a multimedia piece that will be an important part of my show. Your story will encourage others in this unique presentation of art and hope. A portion of the profits of these works of art will be contributed to cancer charities.
pour What is Lost Wax Casting?

There is fabrication, and then there is Lost Wax. These are the two original ancient techniques for making jewelry. Unlike fabrication where you work directly with the metal, Lost Wax Casting is the creation of a wax model by carving and heating. Learn more...
