Greetings! Happy jewelry making is underway for the holidays as all of you resemble elves and SilverWorks looks like Santa's Workshop. This month you can support your fellow smithys in a number of shows and open houses. You can also sample new flavors of coffee when you are in the studio. And there is still time to explore some new techniques with our Silver Passport Workshops.

Circle Crazy New Tool!
You know how much I love the circles. Now you can go even smaller with this Euro Power Large Hole Punch Plier (phew, that's a mouthful). This extremely powerful hole punch can make seven different large-sized round holes: 3/32", 1/8", 5/32", 3/16", 7/32", 1/4" and 9/32". With a compound action handle and hardened cutting dies, it can punch through soft metal up to 16 gauge. This new addition to the studio can be found with the other disc cutters that you have grown to love. Now you can really go circle crazy! |
NEW this fall!
Continue your journey with Lost Wax. In this class we will analyze and explore the use of organic originals. Duplication by replicating an original with the use of rubber molds and wax injection will also be explained. Must have completed Intro to Lost Wax. Material fee based on student's design. More info about this class here.

Circle Economics
How do you take 2.75 x 6 inches of sheet and turn it into 16 pieces of jewelry? Circle Economics! It pains me to see someone take a nice rectangle of silver sheet and just punch a disc out of the center without thinking about maximizing the silver around it. I mean really... there is a whole lot of valuable stuff there that really isn't "scrap". Read more... |
