On the Move with Mobile
With the increase in smartphone capabilities, more consumers are using their mobile devices to search and access information about businesses. In fact, the number of people browsing on a device instead of a computer has grown dramatically, so it's time to make the move. Be sure your website and other online communications are mobile-optimized.
Because technology changes quickly, the business owner needs to be responsive. So does the company website. Consumers are using multiple types of devices to search as well as read content. Businesses must create websites, emails, and other online communications that change or are optimized for different modes of viewing. Search engines are now ranking sites based on their mobile-friendliness.

Be Social

Expand your network by being social. Using the online networks that you already access,search your contacts and groups to find potential contacts.


Prepare an introduction that explains why you would like to connect. Once you've established the connection, take steps to build the relationship with invitations to stay in touch or meet regularly.


Conference Presentation

As a session presenter at a Mentoring Conference this fall, I spoke on the importance of networking at the college level.

In other sessions offered, the discussions focused on mentoring relationships in a professional environment, the multi-generational workforce, resiliency in academic endeavors, and the influence of Millennials.

It was a great experience and opportunity to meet and learn from interesting academic leaders. I was happy to have made the investment to expand my knowledge in these areas as well as my network.
