Join a Mastermind Group


Working on your own as an entrepreneur, or leading a small company, can be a lonely prospect. To receive support and other benefits, consider forming or joining a mastermind group. Your new and exclusive group may consist of 4-5 other non-competitive professionals to discuss various topics in a confidential setting. To be productive, schedule sessions of 1-2 hours to meet on a regular basis, and mark your calendar to make it a priority.




The mastermind group may provide the basis for collaboration or support when difficult issues arise. At each meeting there is an opportunity to delve into topics that allow group members to give their input. In addition, the group provides accountability for goal-setting. When you meet regularly, natural deadlines occur and these can keep members on-track. For the agenda, it's important to allocate time to discuss each group member's current situation.



Do you have a great idea for your business? Share it with the group. Maybe they can enhance and expand the direction of your initial vision. It's also an ideal time to learn from each other. In the course of the discussion, members can offer best practices from their own experience. It also allows for brainstorming and generating new ideas.



There's a reason why you selected these individuals to be in your group. They are professional and accomplished in their fields. Since it's made up of business people that you respect, it's easy to provide referrals to each other. To make the best introduction, be sure to clarify how to describe each member's business for a referral.
