Greetings!

The Fall is here...and I am busy! I will be presenting a couple of seminars for Central Bucks Chamber, and moderating a marketing panel for Lower Bucks Chamber. Plus, I will be a guest lecturer for professor Maria Martino Evans' MBA class at Delaware Valley College. It will be lots of fun to share ideas!

Have you begun planning for 2013? It's important to start the year strong. If you have stated goals for each quarter of the year, it's easier to avoid the ups and downs in revenue. Try to set aside some time in the next few weeks to consider your business objectives for the next 12 months.

Discover 0ur "Marketing Matters" seminar series! The series covers networking, marketing and other business topics to help you succeed. You'll find topic overviews highlighted below in the "Newsworthy" section.

Do you need to reach your target market, expand your client base, or increase your ROI? At Richard Associates, we work with businesses to develop strategic marketing goals  and advertising efforts to help make your business as effective and successful as it can be.

Contact us to find out how we can create a marketing program that gets results!

How can you promote your business more effectively? You'll find some hints in "Jumpstart Your Business" below.  There's also a list of local networking events, a networking tip, and links to articles I think you will find interesting. Enjoy!

Best regards,

Susan Richard

Promotion

Promotion takes into account informing, persuading, and influencing the customer's purchase decision.  The concept involves getting potential customers to be aware of your product's benefits, telling them how it can help them, and ends in a purchase. How good are you and your team at conveying these elements to people?

Personal Selling

Interacting person-to-person with the customer is one of the most used forms of promotion. This can be in-person, on the telephone, or videoconferencing. Initially, a prepared presentation is recommended to be sure all of the important points are covered to inform and persuade the customer.

Advertising

This paid form of promotion includes media selection for your particular product. The type of media you use depends on the best way to reach your potential customer. Media is comprised of TV, radio, print, direct mail, outdoor advertising, and electronic, such as internet banner ads, or monitors at a retail checkout.

Sales Promotion

We use sales promotion to inform or persuade the customer through special offers. These may include coupons, discounts, bundling items, or packages which are available for a limited time. In addition, specialty advertising items like pens or magnets, product samples, or premiums may influence the customer in the future purchase of the product.

Other forms of promotion include public relations, direct marketing, social media, and buzz marketing.

Promotional efforts with the best results involve a combination of these forms of selling to increase awareness, create a relationship with the customer, and build brand loyalty.

Networking Tip

Brag a Little

While networking, it's important to listen to your new connections. You want to learn about them to determine how you may be able to help them or work with them.

With that being said, it's also critical to convey what you do. Give people an idea of what types of services you provide. And, "toot your own horn" by sharing an example of a successful client project. Did you land a big deal? Were you a keynote speaker at a conference? People remember stories better than a list of services.

What's your latest success story?
