JOIN US THIS FRIDAY FOR THE FIRST-EVER VIRGINIA GUBERNATORIAL BATTLEGROUND FORUM
In an historic event taking place this Friday, August 9, 2013, Virginia's two major party candidates for governor will present their ideas for Virginia's future to an audience of business leaders from the commonwealth's most important electoral battleground. Republican Ken Cuccinelli and Democrat Terry McAuliffe will face off in this "Battleground Forum" moderated by Derek McGinty of WUSA9 News that will offer business and community leaders in Virginia's fastest growing and most economically vibrant region an exclusive opportunity to hear the two candidates for Governor of Virginia. The Reston Chamber is hosting this forum along with the Prince William, Loudoun and Fredricksburg Chambers. Our Chambers share a common vision of promoting and sustaining economic growth that will benefit the thousands of businesses and jobs that we represent. RESTON INTERFAITH HAS CHANGED ITS NAME - THIS MISSION STAYS THE SAME
A Note from Kerrie Wilson, President & CEO, Cornerstones
"After 43 years, Reston Interfaith has changed its name - the mission stays the same. For the past four-plus decades, Reston Interfaith has helped more than 250,000 individuals and families move towards greater stability and self-sufficiency. The Board of Directors, after a thorough and thoughtful process, has voted to change the name Reston Interfaith to Cornerstones.
As Cornerstones, we remain firmly rooted in the Reston community and continue to embrace founder Robert E. Simon's principle of inclusivity. We apply this value - that all may "live, work, play and serve" - in the many communities where we now operate. From Reston's beginnings, nurtured by a caring community that includes our business partners and the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce, Reston Interfaith - now Cornerstones - has grown to become one of the most effective nonprofits in the region, providing help today for people in need and offering hope for a stronger tomorrow..." >>Read more
