EICC-ON Self Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ) Update

Effective March 22, the current 2012 SAQ campaign will be updated for 2013. The update will correct a few minor errors that were identified in the last year. Users should not experience disruptions, even if an SAQ is in process or has already been completed and released.  Please open a support ticket using the "Help and Support" link in EICC-ON if you encounter problems.

As a reminder, the Tools Management Work Group will launch a revision of the SAQ in early 2014. As a result, a new campaign will not be launched in 2013. The reporting period will still be listed as 2012, but the 2012 campaign can be updated at any time to reflect progress in 2013, and results will be illustrated in real time. EICC member companies and suppliers are encouraged to update their results, and to show progress throughout the year.

The EICC Tools Management Work Group will update the EICC-ON dashboard after the update has been completed. We appreciate your patience and understanding as the system will be down for maintenance for a short period on March 22.

Contact eicc-onhelp@eicc.info if you have questions about the specific changes to the SAQ or about work in process.

Upcoming EICC Labor & Ethics Lead Auditor Training Opportunities

EICC training is not just for auditors! Anyone who wants to get more familiar with the EICC Code of Conduct and auditing process will benefit from the EICC LEad Auditor course.

The course provides participants with the competencies required to successfully perform EICC Labor & Ethics VAP audits. The highly interactive five-day workshop covers social systems auditing, investigative skills, management systems, validation and reporting, and the EICC Audit Process.

The course includes an on-line self-study module that covers the background and context of the EICC program, common labor issues, compliance and legal standards, and other issues.

Successful completion of this course fulfills the training requirement of IRCA (International Register of Certificated Auditors) for certifying labor and ethics auditors for EICC auditing program.

Working Hours Data Collection Template

Join the EICC Pilot Program

The EICC Working Hours Data Collection Template is available to help EICC companies collect working hours data from their facilities.  Data collected during a pilot phase will be used to establish a baseline for discussion at the EICC Winter Membership Meeting.

The template is part of the EICC strategy on working hours to "make a measurable impact" on this issue by 2014, as adopted by EICC members at the July membership meeting.  EICC members will be encouraged after the pilot phase to use the template with their suppliers, and to use the data it provides to establish collaborative approaches to reduce excessive overtime.

Interested companies may use the templates immediately, and are asked to collect data retroactive to Jan. 1, 2013.  Completed templates will be sent to EICC according to the membership compliance protocols that ensure confidentiality.  All data will be anonymized and used only in aggregate form.
