WMC Training Webinars: Registration Open
New webinars are available to help your company learn about the EICC/GeSI Worker-Management Communication training program. The "train the trainer" course helps EICC and GeSI companies and their suppliers implement effective worker-management communication systems. It also raises employee awareness of their rights and responsibilities. The course offers training for factory staff on Worker-Management Communication Basics, and allows participants to develop their own programs through practical exercises.
Join a webinar to learn how the training has been used, and how you and your suppliers can join this capacity building initiative. Click on a date below to register.
The webinars are free, and are open to EICC and GeSI members and invited suppliers. Contact Christina Dobbs or Jannie Bailey to register non-member webinar attendees or for more information.

Working Hours Data Collection Template
Join the EICC Pilot Program
The EICC Working Hours Data Collection Template is available to help EICC companies collect working hours data from their facilities. Data collected during a pilot phase will be used to establish a baseline for discussion at the EICC Winter Membership Meeting.
The template is part of the EICC strategy on working hours to "make a measurable impact" on this issue by 2014, as adopted by EICC members at the July membership meeting. EICC members will be encouraged after the pilot phase to use the template with their suppliers, and to use the data it provides to establish collaborative approaches to reduce excessive overtime.
Interested companies may use the templates immediately, and are asked to collect data retroactive to Jan. 1, 2013. Completed templates will be sent to EICC according to the membership compliance protocols that ensure confidentiality. All data will be anonymized and used only in aggregate form.

EICC-ON and SAQ Updates:
Change to VAP Audit Observer Process
The VAP OMT has changed how observers to VAP audits are selected. Previously, notice was provided to firms listed on "Attachment B" (Auditee Approved Recipient Distribution List), and the first firm to respond received the single observation spot. This often resulted in delays and other challenges when the first to respond was not the most appropriate firm. As a result, auditees will now indicate to the APM which company should be selected (must be an EICC member). Observers are expected to provide critical feedback to the VAP Work Group, and the APM will work with auditees to select alternative observer companies when this does not occur. Contact Christina Dobbs, Mike McDonnell, or Balan Shanmuganathan for more information.
Pre-Audit SAQ EOL
The Tools Management Work Group removed the pre-audit SAQ, which is no longer needed. The EICC-ON toolbox was streamlined as a result of higher completion levels of corporate and facility SAQs before audits. Information previously entered into a pre-audit SAQ will not be lost, but new pre-audit SAQs can no longer be initiated. The work group believes this will make the SAQ completion and audit preparation process simpler. Contact Christina Dobbs, Mike McDonnell, or Hong Ling for more information.
