VAP Updates:

Important Reminder on Use of Audit Processes

There is some confusion about the use and sharing of the recently introduced AMA (Auditee Managed Audit) and CMA (Customer Managed Audit) audit options, which are used to complement the VAP (Validated Audit Program).

Some non-EICC members attempt to share "AMAs" with EICC members.  The AMA and CMA were introduced for only a few situations.  The primary audit process is the VAP (Validated Audit Program).  The material and training on AMA/CMA are for EICC Members only.  They are not to be shared with non-members.  Please read these other related key points:

AMA:  The purpose of an AMA is to allow EICC Members to manage audits on themselves to meet the Membership Compliance Program (MCP) requirements.
  • It is only to be used by EICC Members to audit their own facilities.
  • It only counts for membership compliance program requirements for the EICC Member facilities.
  • Never accept an AMA from a supplier who is not an EICC member; they should get a VAP.
  • EICC members may decide independently if they will accept an AMA from another EICC member to meet internal objectives.

CMA:  The CMA is for EICC members who have trained and dedicated auditors and/or program managers, and dedicated supplier facilities:

  • An EICC member company must always be involved in a CMA.
  • If the EICC member conducts the audit (2nd Party CMA), their auditors must be EICC VAP Qualified or EICC IRCA Certified.
  • The EICC member must ensure a report is generated and then must manage the CAP and ensure all findings are addressed.
  • EICC members may decide independently if they want to accept a CMA from a supplier; it was designed for customers with more dedicated supplier facilities.
Remember, the VAP (Validated Audit Program) is intended to be the primary audit process.  If you plan to conduct AMA/CMA work or have questions on these programs, please take the time to look at the material and webinars available or contact Mike McDonnell  or  Balan Shanmuganathan.
