Testing & Inspecting of Piezoelectric Ceramics

Test Reports from APC Reduce Customer Costs!

Employees at APC International take pride in the quality of the piezoelectric products produced and sold at our facilities in central Pennsylvania. The staff at APC International have years of experience testing and inspecting piezoelectric ceramics, piezo components, and piezo sub-assemblies. All piezoelectric ceramics sold by APC undergo a rigorous physical inspection in addition to a check of capacitance, d33, and frequency. In addition to our standard pass-fail inspection, APC frequently provides test reports to our customers so they can reduce or eliminate their incoming inspection costs. APC also offers services such as sorting or binning of piezoelectric ceramics in matched pairs or groups.

Consider increasing the flexibility of your company by receiving your piezoelectric products with a test report to minimize specialty test equipment purchases and reduce incoming inspection hassles. Parts can be sorted, binned and packaged to your requirements.

 - Typical criteria include:

       - Capacitance

       - d33

       - Frequency

 - Request your own testing criteria

 - Reduce incoming inspection time

 - Gain the advantage of experienced inspectors

 - Testing documentation provided upon request

Bending Actuators from APC International

New Epoxies Make For a More Robust Actuator.

APC's team of engineers had a busy 2013 developing new epoxies and improving our bonding techniques so that we can provide our customers with higher quality bending actuators. Bending actuators are designed to produce a relatively large mechanical deflection in response to an electrical signal. Typically, two thin piezoelectric ceramics are bonded together and connected in parallel so that when an electrical input is applied one ceramic layer expands while the other layer contracts. The result is a useful bending motion.

Bending actuators are frequently used in haptic technologies, textile weaving machines, switching applications, Braille machines, and small-volume pumps. APC's new epoxies and bonding techniques allow us to manufacture a more robust bending actuator with a longer useful life. APC's engineering team is ready to work with your company to design a bending actuator that meets your needs using our expanded bending actuator design capabilities.
