PROJECT REBUILD OPEN MEETING OCTOBER 6
Have some ideas about how to reconstruct the areas of the building damaged by the car crash last month? The UCR Board would love to hear from you! Join us following the service on Sunday, October 6, at 11:30 a.m. in the Strong Room to discuss reconstruction. Please come prepared to discuss the specifics and estimated cost associated with your ideas. If you have an idea but are not able to attend the meeting, please submit it in writing to a board member and note the highlights of your proposal. Sometimes great opportunity comes disguised as an impossible situation, and we trust that if we are to improve upon our building, the divine idea is just waiting to be expressed!
UPDATE ON UCR PARKING LOT PROJECT
As part of the planning for the Prayer-A-Thon fundraiser, an intention was set to devote a portion of the funds towards the project to recoat and restripe the parking lot surface. We would like to express gratitude for the generous gifts made during the Prayer-A-Thon that exceeded expectations and will help bring this project to fruition. As the weather permits, the work will be done on Monday, September 30th and Tuesday, October 1st. The lot will be closed while the work is being done so alternate parking locations may be needed during this time, such as on a neighboring side street or church lot.
NOMINATIONS TEAM IS FORMING FOR 2014 UCR BOARD OF TRUSTEES ELECTION
In accordance with UCR by-laws, Rev brenda, Board Member Glady McMellor and Congregational Representative Cindy Hathaway will be meeting in early October to select a second congregant to serve on our Nominations Team. This team is charged with the all-important task of selecting potential members who are ready and willing to step into a leadership position on the Board of Trustees. Our Board of Trustees elections will be held at our annual meeting in January, 2014. We invite YOU to prayerfully consider if this is your time to serve UCR in this way. We also invite all to hold the team and the nominations process in prayer.
FOOD BANK DONATIONS NEEDED
We would like to request folks to continue replenishing our food bank with non-perishable food items, as well as other products. This can include paper products, tooth paste and brushes, etc. Everything that has been donated is greatly appreciated and we hope all will find it in their hearts to donate something.
