PAULA LAND AND GLADY MCMELLOR OFFER A BOOK STUDY

Looking for a great book to read and share with others?

Paula Land and Glady McMellor have just read the book "Living Originally, Ten Spiritual Practices to Transform Your Life," by Unity teacher/author Rev. Robert Brumet. He was their workshop presenter at Unity Village in June. They returned from that spiritual retreat restored and ready to share the book's core practices in a book study. It will take place from 6-8 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the next four months (Sept. 10, Oct. 8, Nov. 12 and Dec. 10), with optional love offerings. The book is available now from the UCR bookstore for $15. To culminate our study, Rev. Brumet will provide a workshop on transformative practices right here at UCR on Sat., November 16 (1-4:00 p.m.) and also give the message at Sunday service November 17. Please feel free to contact either Paula at 319-721-1759 or Glady at 319-362-2242 if you have questions.

PROJECT REBUILD UPDATE

The damaged items from the bookstore have been inventoried and are ready to report to the insurance company for claims purposes. There are still items from the sanctuary storage room that needs to be inventoried. After the inventory is complete, we'll be seeking bids for "as-it-was" reconstruction (as instructed by the insurance adjustor). A couple of folks have submitted ideas for a different configuration of the area. Rev. brenda and Board of Trustees Vice President Glady McMellor are co-chairing the Project Rebuild team. If you have any questions or input, please contact either Glady or Rev. brenda.

OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR UPDATE

In response to the August 23 resignation of office administrator Kip Lilly, Rev. brenda and the board have met to plan our next steps. Our current office hours are 11 a.m. to 3 p.m..Nina Swanson has accepted our invitation to fill in as INTERIM office administrator for several weeks. During this time, administrative ad-hoc team members will prepare a final job description, employment policies and search interview processes. We appreciate the efforts of everyone who's stepped up to fill in gaps. Your patience and flexibility during this interim period are greatly valued.

ADOPT A GARDEN!

Do you enjoy being outdoors, being in nature and the beauty of a well-kept garden? Do you know the difference between a weed and a plant? Our gardens need YOU! Please consider adopting a UCR garden on your own or with a friend, and share the joy! A display and sign-up sheet will be in the foyer on Sunday, or email Unitycedarrapids@aol.com if you are interested.
