Late on Friday morning, August 2, a sports utility vehicle left Blairs Ferry Road, drove through our east lawn and crashed through the east wall of the bookstore. The vehicle stopped in the bookstore, just short of the wall to the adjoining kitchen.
No one in the building was injured. The driver, who was not conscious at the time of impact, declined medical treatment.
Our exterior wall was been enclosed for security purposes. The interior (chapel, storage room and bookstore) has been left virtually untouched, as the driver's insurance adjustor has not yet been to our building to assess the damages.
We wanted all to be alerted of the situation before Sunday services. For safety reasons, we request that NO ONE enters the bookstore or chapel.
You may contact Rev. brenda or any board member before Sunday if you like. At this time, however, there's not any further information to share.
We lift prayers of gratitude for everyone's safety and prayers of wholeness and protection for Jeff, the driver.
God's power is at work, this I know for sure!
