REV. BRENDA CONTINUING HER "UNITY-SPEAK" SERIES SUNDAY

Please join us Sunday at 10 a.m. for week three of Rev. brenda's summer series, "Unity Speaks".  We'll delve into such metaphysical concepts as "What is the Absolute Realm?", "Who or What is God?", and "Where is Heaven and Hell?" When we comprehend these major themes we have an entirely new understanding of life itself. Come and bring a friend!

JONNY LIPFORD GUEST MUSICIAN SUNDAY

Jonny Lipford - June 2011

Our guest musician Sunday is Jonny Lipford, who takes an age old instrument and uses it to create not only traditional sounds, but also sounds that are new and not commonly linked to the Native American style flute, with a voice all its own. Jonny started his musical journey at the young age of 13 and continues to share his music with audiences across the United States and broadcasts world-wide. He composes his own original music and also performs with love and respect for all types of music. Jonny will be performing a Prelude Concert at 9:45.

FOOD DONATIONS REQUESTED

This Sunday, there will be a brunch following the service to launch UCR's new commUnity Cupboard Food Program. The mission is to extend our abundance to people in the local area who do not qualify for aid, but are facing times when their finances don't quite cover the basics. Please join us and bring a non-perishable food item. Paper and hygiene products are also welcomed. The commUnity Cupboard fits into the Unity principles as well as sharing our Center with our community. We are asking you to consider buying an extra can or bottle of what you regularly purchase and donate it to the Cupboard. We also ask everyone to share this resource with anyone who may have need of the Cupboard.

TWO IMPORTANT MEETINGS ON AUGUST 11

Sunday, August 11, from 11:30-1 p.m. you are invited to join Jan Griffith and Susan Liddell, Healthy Congregation Facilitators, in continuing to explore ways to promote healthy individuals and healthy congregations. The topic this quarter is how normal emotions and anxieties affect our everyday responses. This can create a ripple effect, causing some responses to spread into all of our relationships, including our spiritual community. Learn listening skills, flexibility, and creative ways to manage anxiety - without all of those therapy bills! Following the Healthy Congregation's workshop, all Ministry Team Leaders will have a short meeting from 1-1:30 and all are asked to attend. A topic and agenda will be sent to all MTLs prior to the meeting so please RSVP to Susan Liddell, Licensed Unity Leader, at  Liddelles@aol.com.
