"FROM SCIENCE TO GOD"

Rev_brenda1Come on in to UnityCR this Sunday morning at 10 as we continue our burrow down the rabbit-hole of "From Science to God." We're exploring thoughts shared in the book by author & physicist Peter Russell. This week, we'll delve into wondrous ideas such as the mystery of light, the light of consciousness and God as consciousness. Our message promises to continue to expand our awareness, question our current structures of knowing and introduce some new questions to our spiritual path. See you there!

MOTHER AND DAUGHTER VIOLINISTS PERFORMING SUNDAY

Marguerite Jayasimha Please join us this Sunday in welcoming mother and daughter violinists, Marguerite and Shefali Isajoy Jayasimha. They will perform during the service and also during a prelude concert from 9:50-10:00. Originally from the Cedar Rapids area, Marguerite moved to San Diego, where she was a violin teacher with the San Diego Suzuki School of Music. Her husband's job recently took them to Singapore for a lengthy stay. They are happy to be returning to California soon to live. Marguerite is the daughter of former Unity member Shirley Pike of Marion.

REV. BRENDA OFFERING A CLASS STARTING JULY 11

Rev. brenda is offering a steamy soul-searching class starting July 11. We'll meet for five Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. to explore our personal spiritual journey and evolving soul. This is an organic, experiential, discussion-based class that unfolds in mystical ways. I invite you to mosey on down the path of discovering the space in you where your divine and human natures intersect. We'll talk about topics such as: Am I enlightened yet? Where will the spiritual journey take me? Will I know when I've "arrived"? Of course, we'll cover some of the "loving what is" ground along the way. Sign-up sheets are in the foyer. Please sign up today or you can call the UCR office and ask Kip or Rev. brenda to enroll you. The class is presented on a love offering basis.

JOIN US FOR THE 5th ANNUAL UCR PRAYER-A-THON!

The UCR Prayer-a-thon is just a few weeks away! This event is our commUnity's largest consciousness and fund raiser, and this year's theme is "Creating Sacred Spaces." It will take place from 6 p.m. July 12 to 10 a.m. July 14. The donations received will be prioritized and portioned out in three ways:

  1. 12% of all donations received will be tithed to Silent Unity, the prayer powerhouse of the Unity movement
  2. a portion of all donations will be used to upgrade our parking lot, creating a more attractive, sacred space for those who call UCR their home and for those who visit
  3. the remaining donations will be contributed to the UCR general fund

We do this by PARTICIPATION! This event will hold many avenues to an experience of spirit; there will be chanting, drumming, singing, yoga, walking, reading, light work, meditation, as well as many other sacred activities that express prayer consciousness. These 40 hours of communion with SPIRIT serve as an annual reminder that we are the ones who create sacred spaces. It is in us, by us and through us, that God IS. It is up to us to realize that.
