REV. BRENDA WRAPPING UP BYRON KATIE SERIES
Please join us at 10 a.m. Sunday when Rev. brenda will conclude her series based on Byron Katie's book "I Need Your Love--Is that True?" Focusing primarily on chapter 10, we come to the nut of our work - loving ourselves in such a way that we are capable of truly loving others. We'll also cover the all-important question: Whose business is it? Join us for the grand finale to finding love and approval!
KANSAS THORP SINGING SUNDAY
 Special music this Sunday will be provided by Kansas Thorp, an up-and-coming country music singer who was born and raised in Marion. She recorded her first demo CD, "Nine Hours to Nashville," during her senior year of high school. Kansas currently performs in the Northeast Iowa region for local businesses, as she continues to write music and work toward having a career as a country music artist. Guitarist Rob Kendall will be accompanying her.
HELPERS NEEDED TO SPRUCE UP UCR!
In addition to the fine folks who've already signed up to help, we could still use 3 or 4 more folks. THIS Saturday morning (June 1) from 9 a.m. till noon there are still openings to help with cleaning up and beautifying our grounds at UnityCR. We'll be trimming trees, moving debris to the edges of the parking lot and doing general clean-up work. Please show up, and if you have them, bring work gloves, loppers, chain saws and pole saws. Thank you in advance for demonstrating your loving care of our spiritual home!
TAKE PART IN "RELAY FOR LIFE" JUNE 7
UnityCR will have a team walking in the Relay for Life fundraiser to benefit the American Cancer Society. The event starts Friday, June 7 at 7 p.m. and ends the next morning at 7 a.m. UnityCR's team will walk the first hour, from 7-8 p.m., at Kirkwood Community College. Bring in your books and CDs! It's time to circulate all those great gently used spiritual books, books on CD, and music CDs that are clogging up your shelves. Just box them up and bring them to Sacred Grounds and Books any time the church is open. They will be circulated at our Annual Fundraiser Brunch and Book Sale on Sunday, June 9.

REV. RON FRITTS GIVING WORKSHOP JUNE 9
Rev. Ron Fritts will be giving a workshop at UCR following  brunch on Sunday, June 9. "Speak the Truth - Say What You Mean (and Think)" will explore the significance of the language we use in our everyday conversation, in the explanation of our theology and even in our music. It will examine some of Unity's basic teachings and consider how we can express them in current language, as well as when and how to share our truth with others. |
