REV. BRENDA SPEAKING, ABBY MERRILL SINGING
Rev. brenda will return to the platform to give the talk, titled "Everything's Backwards", for our 10 a.m. Sunday service this week. Glean some tips on navigating through life when your little corner of the universe turns upside down. Special musician will be singer Abby Merrill, age 12, who is a sixth grader at Lincoln Elementary in Iowa City. Abby has performed at Theatre Cedar Rapids as Susan Waverly in "White Christmas," at the Marriott Lincolnshire in Chicago as Jojo in "Seussical," and in a variety of productions at the Metropolis Theatre in Arlington Heights, IL. Most recently, she was Louisa in "The Sound of Music" at Starlighters II Theatre in Anamosa. Abby was scheduled to perform a couple of weeks ago, but had to postpone. We're glad she'll be able to join us this Sunday instead.
LENTEN BOOK STUDY CONTINUES SUNDAY
Join Jan Griffith, Licensed Unity Leader for an exciting Lenten Book Study during Feb. and March. Lively discussion over coffee, tea, and pastries will take place on Sundays now through March 17 from 9 - 9:45 AM in Sacred Grounds. Come discover the 6 steps hidden in the Lazarus Bible story. Overcome obstacles to redesign and resurrect your own life! The topic for Sunday, February 10, is "Turn Away." How do we turn away from the negative messages in our lives? Drop in any Sunday...all are welcome!

BOARD OF TRUSTEES UPDATES
Paula Land wishes to thank everyone so much for showing up and actively participating in the annual membership meeting! She would especially like to thank the UCR congregation for supporting her the past two years as president of the board. Your entire board of trustees is a stellar group of dedicated leaders with whom she has had the privilege of serving. At the annual meeting, we recognized Don Epley for his commitment these past three years and welcomed Gary Gilbert as new trustee for the next three years. I look forward to continuing to serve as a trustee and joyfully pass the reins to your new board president, Joshua Haun. UnityCR is blessed!
