AFFIRMATION

You Can Have, Be, or Do Anything You Want

REV. BRENDA TO SPEAK SUNDAY

Last Sunday, Rev. brenda left us in suspense about what she will be speaking about this Sunday at 10 a.m. Will it be "I've Always Wondered," where she answers questions pulled from our famous ice cream bucket? Or will she be wrapping up her series of talks taken from the book, "The Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz? Either way, it's sure to be insightful and you won't want to miss it!

TWO IMPORTANT MEETINGS SUNDAY

The UnityCR quarterly meeting will be held in the CommUnity Room following the service Sunday. Brunch will be served. Help us celebrate the previous quarter, learn what's going on now, and look at what's coming up as we move toward our vision in these exciting final months of 2012. Also, there will be a Ministry Team Leader meeting following the quarterly meeting that will last 90 minutes. All MTLs are expected to attend as we will be looking at 2013 visions and budgets.

AMY & ADAMS GUEST MUSICIANS SUNDAY

Amy & Adams 2012

Our guest musicians Sunday are Amy & Adams, who will share their inspiring upbeat music with us. Amy and Mark Adams-Westin found each other in the Twin Cities after decades of playing in their own worlds. They've produced five well-received CDs that have garnered national and international airplay. "Roots Music Report" declared them, "as fresh and entertaining as folk music has ever been." But Amy & Adams covers a musical territory far wider than folk. They've dubbed it Eclectic/Folk Rock/TinPanAlley/Blue Grass. Check out their music and stories at www.amyandadams.com

"I OF THE STORM" CLASS STARTS OCT. 31

Does having more peace and less conflict in your life interest you? Does the experience of connection to wholeness versus a feeling of separation and victimhood interest you? Does your life happen to you or through you? Join Susan Liddell, LUL for the "I of the Storm" class based on Gary Simmons book by the same name. Class dates are 10/31 (Wednesday, Book store) 11/8, 15, 29, 12/6 (Thursdays, Strong Room) 6-8 p.m. Call Susan with questions: 389-3132.

FUN CLUB OUTING NOV 3

Fun Club will head up to Central City Saturday November 3, to see Unity's very own Noah Swanson perform in "Grease". Nina Swanson is the music director and choregrapher. Tickets are just $5. Show starts at 7 p.m. with carpooling available. Please contact Nancy Dearborn at 319-573-5877 or NancyDearbornMusic@gmail.com to RSVP. If you can't go Saturday, there is a show on Friday November 2.

SOUP SUPPER AND AUCTION FOR DOUG WICK ON NOVEMBER 10

The support continues for UCR member Doug Wick as he recovers from leukemia. Money raised from a soup supper and silent auction on November 10 at 5 p.m. will help the Wick family with expenses. Admission is $10. Check the foyer following the service Sunday to buy tickets, sign up to help and see a list of items that will be auctioned off.  The next organizational meeting for this benefit will be Saturday, Oct. 27 at 10 a.m. in the Strong Room.
