FWMBC Members and Friends,
Isn't it amazing how fast time seems to past when you are having fun? We are already in the month of July. Hope you have had a fruitful summer vacation thus far. Although we will defer Wednesday night Bible Study until September, Minister Cummings will be teaching a leadership class during that time period. Please see her if you are interested in taking the class. And remember, please pray for our sick and shut-in members.

GODLY LOVE AND FEAR DON'T GO TOGETHER.
And we have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. By this, love is perfected with us, that we may have confidence in the day of judgment; because as He is, so also are we in this world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love cast out fear.... (1 John 4:16:
The Apostle John writes this letter during a time when the "thrill was gone" for the third generational church. Even though John stated that the world (outside the church) hated the church, it was clear that the problem arose from in the church. False teachers taught Gnosticism, in essence that Jesus was not present in a physical body. They believed that the body was inherently evil and Jesus could not have had such a body.
John promoted the following points:
1. GOD IS LOVE
God is love and God loves us. We are called on to be like God. We should imitate God in our thoughts and deeds. We must "be" love just like God is love. True love is through God only. Human love is a response to divine love.
2. WHEN LOVE COMES, FEAR GOES
God's love secures our walk; our talk; and our thoughts. When we sincerely love God, and trust His love, there is no need to become fearful, anxious, or worried. When love comes, fear goes.
3. IF WE SAY THAT WE LOVE GOD, BUT WE DON'T DO WHAT HE SAYS, WE LIE
Our love carries over into our actions. We not only love God, but we love the ones that Jesus loves. how can we "not" love the brother that we have seen, but at the same time love God whom we have "not" seen.
When we love God, and others as God loves us, again I say, there is no room for fear, anxiety, and worry, in our lives. Hallelujah!
