I hope that you have all missed the problems associated with the rain lately.  Flooding has been widespread and I am told that it may not be over yet.  Let us pray for those families who have lost loved ones as well as those who have sustained substantial damage due to the floods.  God is able to bring peace to us all in times of trouble.

               STAY IN THE BOAT

Noah was 600 years old when the flood came, and he went aboard the boat to escape---he and his wife and his sons and their wives.
 (Genesis 7:6,7)

The Book of Genesis is included in the Pentateuch and it's author is considered to be Moses.  The book starts with the creation of the world, Adam and Eve; and their sin against God leading to their fall.  The earth however, continued to multiply and as time went on it became inhabited with people whose thoughts and deeds were wicked.  The Lord reached a point where He was sorry that He made man.  He found favor however with Noah, a righteous man in the eyes of the Lord. The Lord commanded Noah to build an ark which would provide safety for Noah, his family, and every species of animal.  In addition, the human race would be preserved by Noah and his family would be saved from the flood.

It took 120 years for Noah to build the ark but he stayed with it.  As a result, we are here today because of his faithfulness to God.

Many people then, and many people now, question God when given assignments that we don't understand.  If we would just have faith in God, follow His instructions, and stay obedient to Him, we will be safe from the outside pressures of the world.  Sometimes the task that we are given demands a great sacrifice, but if God gives it to us, we are able to carry it out.  Back then, those who got into the ark (the boat) were saved from the flood.  Likewise, today, those who are willing to get into the boat that is piloted by Jesus will be saved.

Difficult times will come in our lives, but just remember that when they do come, "get in the boat."
