I cannot thank you enough for your continued prayers, cards, calls, etc.  God worked His grace though you all.  I am getting stronger and I have The Lord, and you to thank for it.  Please keep praying for all of our friends, family, and church members.  Prayer works.  Take a moment and pray for our veterans this Memorial holiday.

     COINCIDENCE OR PROVIDENCE

But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. (Matthew10:30)

I have had some interesting experiences in my life and all of them have reinforced how good God has been to me.  On one occasion a delusional woman came into my Law Office looking for husband.  She believed that he had hired my law partner to file a divorce from her.  He was not there but she pulled her gun out anyway and pointed it at my head while I was talking on the phone to another lawyer.  She tried to lock the latch on our office door but it would not catch.  Our secretary and all of the clients ran out of the office when they first saw the gun.  Her plan was to hold us hostage in the office until she determined that her husband would not divorce her.  But since the door would not lock, she decided to leave the office and make her get-away.  I remember thinking; what a coincidence it was that the door latch would not catch.  However I now believe differently.  I believe that God's providence for my life kicked in and He wasn't finished with me yet.  Accordingly, He made sure that the latch would not lock.

In the passage above we are reminded that God know the number of hairs on our head at any given time.  Even the minuteness of such a fact is within God's knowledge.  COINCIDENCE IS BLIND BUT PROVIDENCE HAS EYES!
Even a strand of hair is important to God.  My being here is providence; so is your being here.

What should our response be to Providence?  First of all we should be bold.  Knowing that God is with us gives us the boldness to live the abundant life that the Bible speaks of.  Secondly we should stop worrying so much.  God knows our circumstances and nothing will happen to us unless God either allows it or causes it.  Otherwise, He would not be omniscient and omnipotent.  Finally, we should get busy with our Father's business.  We can have confidence that God will take care of us while we are taking care of His business.

Was it coincidence or providence that the latch would not lock?  My belief is that it was Providence.
