Dad asked me to write this for him as he has had another procedure this week and is in the hospital. Keep praying for him and we will continue to pray for you all.

Honour Thy Mother
Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother: which is the first commandment with promise; That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.
(Ephesians 6:1-3)
This Sunday, many will celebrate Mothers around the world. This will be the first Mother's Day since the passing of my mother. Although this brings me sadness, I know that I did my best to follow the focus passage of obeying my mother and honoring her. The last words I heard from my mother while taking care of her on the Sunday before she passed was "I Love You from the bottom of my heart." At that time I didn't know those would be the last words I would ever hear from her, but I am comforted knowing that she felt this way and appreciated me taking care of her. I did it because she took care of me as well as loved me growing up and it is part of God's commandments to do the same for her. I am still following God's commandments by obeying and honoring my father at the very second that I am typing this. I am sitting here at the hospital with him as he is resting and serving as his guest columnist to send you all a message because he asked me to. Hopefully this is pleasing to him and to God. This Mother's Day reflect on how you are living up to Ephesians 6:1-3. What are you doing to obey and honor your parents?
