February 14th is the day that we say "HAPPY VALENTINE" to those who we have a fond affection for.  I hope that you will share your love with others in a special way this year.  It really means a lot to the recipient of your kindness.

And remember to pray for one another.

                A SPECIAL LOVE

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.  By this all men will know that you are My disciples,  if you have love for one another.  (John 13: 34, 35)

As a child in school my mother would purchase a large bag of small Valentine cards for Valentines Day and I would go around school handing them out to every one I saw.  In essence, everyone was my Valentine.  Since I am older, I generally restrict my card gifts to immediate family.  However, as I read "John 13:34, 35" I am rethinking my position.  In this passage, Jesus is saying that we should love one another as He has loved us.  And of course "John 3:16" reminds us that the Lord loved the whole world.  To me that means that we should have the love of Christ in our hearts for everyone.

Now I am not saying that we should continue to give cards out to everyone we see, but I do believe that we should express Godly love to others through our expressions in appropriate and courteous ways.  Say kind things to one another.  Pray for one another.  And if able, give a token of affection to those who you know and have relationships with.  In that way, we can celebrate Valentine's Day, and be obedient to God's Word at the same time.  After all, as Christians, we have a "special love."

To all of you, my Brothers and Sisters in Christ, "HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
