PRESS ON IN THE TRUTH!
Sanctify them in the truth; Thy word is truth. (John 17:17)
After hearing a person say, "what is truth? Truth is what I say it is..." I have decided to re-visit a passage that I spoke from a year ago. After all, "Truth" is "Truth" no matter what we say it is. In the passage above, Jesus is praying for His Disciples, and for those of us who have been called and accepted Him as our Savior. He prays that we would be set apart for His service. It is an assignment of telling a lost world about the Living Word (Jesus Christ), and the written word (the Bible). In essence, we are to live by the "Truth" of God's Word and we are to tell others the "Truth" of God's Word.
Sometimes our assignment is not easy. We live in a world where many people do not want to hear the "Truth." Many people will distort the "Word of God" for their own purposes. However we are to press on for the pursuance of the "Truth" no matter what obstacles come up against us. The "Truth" is not based on what is popular with people, or on our own desires. It is God's "Truth" and it never changes. We have a high calling and we should take our positions in Christ seriously and do our work.
When we press on in the "Truth", we assist God in His plan to bring lost men and women to Salvation. There is no other way to be saved than through Jesus Christ. That is the "Truth." Jesus prayed for us, and His prayers will sustain us as we carry out our assignment.
Accordingly, keep pressing on in the "Truth." God will bless us for it!
