FWMBC Members and Friends,

This Sunday many of us will celebrate Father's Day.  Perhaps your father has gone on to be with the Lord as my father has.  His memory is still a source of encouragement for me.  Take some time this Father's Day to think of your dad, and if he is still living, let him know that you care.

Also remember, to keep our sick and shut in members in your prayers.

I WILL TRUST IN THE LORD
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge Him, And He will direct your path.  (Proverbs 3:5,6)

Over the years I have learned that you have to be careful when putting your trust in some person of some things.  If you have ever shared a secret with someone and told them to keep the secret, but later found out that they told everyone, you must know what I mean.  When you have been hurt by trusting in others, or in things, it becomes harder to ever trust again.  But I have also learned over the years that there is One who you can trust with everything that you do.  I am of course talking about the Lord.  You can trust in the Lord.  He will always be there for you, and He will always lead you in the right way.

Solomon, who is referred to as the wisest man that ever lived wrote a list of practical sayings that were based on God's Wisdom.  Proverbs are moral truths which give us mandates, and then explain the outcome of obeying these truths.

In this passage, Solomon tells us to trust in the Lord.  Trust is defined as a confident reliance on another.  When we realize that we don't know everything, it is good to have a relationship the One who does know everything.  There are many ways to make mistakes, and we often find most of them.  How many times have you said, if I had just listened to my parents, etc?  Well, if we just listen to the Lord, we can avoid many of the pitfalls of life.  Remember, Trust in the Lord.

Solomon also tells us to lean not on our own understanding.  As smart as we think we are, each of us can get things wrong from time to time.  Leaning has the sense of putting your whole weight on something.  God is strong enough for us to lean on hm for a clear understanding.  His understanding will always be correct.

Then we are to acknowledge the Lord in all of our ways.  The more I walk with God, the more I rely on Him to tell me what is going on.  I don't just inquire of Him in the big things I face in life, but in everything I face in life.  Since He is right 100% of the time, and I rely on Him in everything I do, guess what that can do to my accuracy level?

Finally, God will direct our paths.  When we sincerely look to Him for guidance, He will definitely answer us.  It is not His desire for us to fail in life.  But we just don't rely on Him enough.  What are you going through right now?  Why not ask Him for direction, and then wait for His answer.  He will direct you in the right way.  As for me, I WILL TRUST IN THE LORD!
