FWMBC Members and Friends,
The Month of May will be very busy for us. Announcements in our bulletins coupled with my updates that I send out to you should be helpful. We have great associate preachers at FWMBC and I will be calling on them quite often in the near future. As for all of you, continue to be prayerful and get some rest when you can. Your service is needed for such a time as this.
Our Sick and Shut-In Members appreciate your prayers.

GOD DOES NOT PLAY FAVORITES!Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness , is accepted with him. (Acts 10:34, 35)
Recently, the Commissioner of the NBA instituted a ban for life on the owner of the Los Angeles Clippers Basketball Team. Allegedly, Donald Sterling made racially insensitive comments against African Americans. It is truly unfortunate that our society still has vestiges of prejudice against people of different races, colors, or creeds. Many of us still remember the "I Have A Dream" speech by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. which highlighted his hope that the day would come when we would be judged by the "content of our character, and not by the color of our skin."
In this regard, we can all take a lesson from Peter who believed that God is no respecter of persons. In other words, God does not play favorites based on one's national origin. God accepts all of those who fear Him, and who work righteousness. It makes no difference who you are or where you are from. If you want God, and are ready to do as He says, the door is open. Through Jesus Christ, we can all come together in the family of God. Unfortunately racism still exist, and there will be more incidents of bigotry in our future. However, even if we are not liked by a few others because of our heritage, the good news is that God loves us all, and He does not play favorites. |
