DON'T UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT!
May you overflow with hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13b)
As Christians we believe in the Trinity. God is in three Persons. The third Person of the Trinity is the Holy Spirit. Theologians often refer to the doctrine of God as Holy Spirit as Pneumatology. Although many of us place great weight on God the Father, and God the Son (Jesus Christ), as well we should, it is also important to understand that we should never underestimate the power of the Holy Spirit.
For instance, did you know that the creation of the heavens above us, is said to be the work of God's Spirit? Job 26:13 says, "By His Spirit he garnished the heavens." The creation of man is as much ascribed to the power of the Spirit as well. Psalm 104:30 says when you (God) send your "Spirit", new life is born to replenish all the living of the earth.
Romans 8:11 says that the Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as He raised Christ from the dead, He will give life to your mortal body by this same Spirit living within you.
The Bible has much to say about the power of the Holy Spirit and I don't have space in this message to cover it all. But the worst thing that Christians can do is to underestimate the power of the Holy Spirit. He is with us all of the time, and He will help lead us to our Heavenly Home. I will cover the Holy Spirit in much more detail in our 8AM and 11AM services on January 12th and 26th.
Thank you Holy Spirit, from the bottom of my heart!
