KNOWING GOD'S WILL!

  

And He went a little further, and fell on His face, and prayed, saying, "O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as Thou will."  (Matthew 26:39)

  

How do you know what God's will for your life is?  Certainly, the Bible is our guide and should be studied continuously.  It is true however, that some matters may arise in your life that may not easily reveal an answer, even with your knowledge of the Word.  The Scripture above shows that even Jesus found Himself struggling with the will of God.  Yet He realized that God's will must take priority over His will. 

  

In thinking about God's will for your life, here are some things to consider:  1.  You must want to know God's will.  Then you will seek it and desire to follow it.  2.  Know the Scriptures.  You can be sure that God expresses His will in the Bible.  3.  Pray about it.  God has a way of making His will known through your prayers.  4.  Make sure that your desire to pursue a particular action does not contradict what is stated in Scripture.  5.  Seek wise-counsel from Godly people.  Often times, God uses others to help you know His will.
