HOW DO YOU SEE YOURSELF?
There we saw the giants; and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight. (Numbers 13:33)
Very few people can say that they are not in some way concerned about how they are viewed by other people. But what is really important, is how people view themselves. Is their opinion of themselves one which is positive? Or do they have a negative self image? Do they have low self-esteem? One's image of himself/herself is important because our achievements in life can be affected by it. Many people are high achievers because they believe that they can do great things. On the other hand, many people never attempt to do great things, because they don't believe that they can. HOW DO YOU SEE YOURSELF?
Moses was directed by God to send spies into the land of Canaan for evaluation of what the land was like. God already said that He was giving the land to them. Moses sent 12 spies who came back with evidence (a cluster of Grapes), showing that it was good land and worthy of having. Caleb and Joshua were ready to go possess the land. But the others were afraid because they believed that they were like "grasshoppers" when compared to the "giants" that were presently in the land. Because they saw themselves in that way, they never entered the Promised Land.
1. When God offers us grapes in life, we should pursue them. We should thank God for the gifts and possess them.
2. Do we see others as giants when God promises us blessings? God will never promise us something that He will not deliver.
3. Do we see ourselves as grasshoppers? As God's people, we are somebody. We can do all things through Christ Who strengthens us. We must boldly accept the challenge of representing God's assignments for our lives.
So again the question is asked: "HOW DO YOU SEE YOURSELF?"
